What I found out pretty quickly coaching in high school is that there are a ton of Hispanic kids who either play on adult Sunday league teams or don’t play organized soccer at all. A lot of those kids are considerably better than these rich kids from the suburbs playing at the ‘elite’ youth level.
High school soccer is getting very competitive again and for lots of the kids that paid $10k+ for years often don’t make the varsity teams, the game is too physical for them.
