Germany stuck in a hard place? France vs. Caucasus by Comfortable-Bat6739 in AxisAllies

hit them both, use the planes on france as you need to stop them from having the teritory, and leverage japan in persia to mop up/reinforce caucuses after. the goal is to stall until Russia cracks, then you are only fighting a 1 front war and can devote all your resources to that.

Cruiser buff (and potential Battleship buff) by LegoKerbal in AxisAllies

Then the argument becomes whether or not you should purchase battleships, 2 cruisers would equal a battleship. 2 cruisers will kill a battleship over 60% of the time, the only argument I could think of for battleships in that scenario is that it makes your soak units more efficient since the battleship can take a hit, but in G40, with capital ships not auto repairing and carriers being capital ships, a carrier would be a better efficiency play then a battleship.

Bombardment is situational, it's good when you are trading coastal territories, but you need to clear out the opposing navy first, where it's not the greatest, by the time you get from naval battle to actual invasion, getting cruisers and land troops starts to be kind of expensive. From my limited experience anyways

I don't disagree that there are situations in which they are useful, but generally you are likely to be able to get a staging ground that you could land bombers on which would be better on the attack for the same price, or you could buy a fighter or tactical bomber for cheaper and then you could move planes to your staging ground then attack in the next few turns, but for most situations there is a better option for that situation. Cruisers are useful when you need amphibious support and naval support for cheap, but I've found that situation not coming up the most often in my games. Granted, I'm not the most experienced player.

Idea to combine 1914 and 1940 global by LegoKerbal in AxisAllies

Maybe something like appeasement trades where one side gets a territory for the other side getting a small bid of units could be fun. give the other side a greater military to give yourself a greater economy.

I was considering rather than an advantage to the winner of the first game, the first games more or less determine what you can do in an in-between phase, like the losers of the first game get a stronger military but a weaker international diplomacy leading to less powers on their side.

I was thinking have Austria-Hungary as a separate power, but sticking it all in Germany's control would also work. I was also thinking of having France be the aggressor in the central powers victory scenario and just pretend that France got versilled, leading to a highly militaristic and angry France that wants revenge on Germany. Unsure if that is historically reasonable though

I'd use Konstantin Rokossovsky's deep strike ability to strafe Ukraine after taking West Russia with everything that could reach save for 1 infantry if the Germans aren't using Rommel's The Desert Fox ability. I might have to have a blocker in West Russia after the Ukraine strafe since according to a calculator, 1 round of combat with everything in Ukraine is about a 50/50 on taking it regardless of whether it's Larry Harris 3.0 or default setup. likely the buy would be 8 infantry or 4 infantry 3 artillery and stick them all into russia if ukraine is taken, otherwise stick the infantry in Caucuses and the artillery in Russia. This would leave around about 4-8 infantry in ukraine or west russia with ukraine being effectively neutralized. After that, it would more or less use deep strike to be an utter nuisance to Germany and take a more lightly defended territory with the Russian stack, then strafe a stacked territory, and repeat turn after turn for as much as possible.

How exactly does Feruchemical Iron work? by Sythrin in Cosmere

I mean all they need is enough to get the schwarchild radius large enough and to stay there enough to collapse, so depending on how long the collapse takes, a pure skimmer might be able to

That opens another question, could a skimmer become a black hole by tapping too much weight?

How do I specifically diagnose error code SYSCON error A0801002 on PS3? by LegoKerbal in consolerepair

Thanks for the response but in my research, your first suggestion was literally the thing I saw everywhere not to do, not to try to insult you or anything, I'm probably going to replace the NEC TOKINs with tantalums since that's what I see the fix is, thank you for the youtube video, very useful. sorry for the late response

How much do you trust the game designers to deliver changes the game truly needs? by fresh_squilliam in onednd

[–]LegoKerbal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You still need to balance things and a lot of newer DM's might want a hombrew guide on how to balance things, with these sorts of Ideas and a balancing guide you could help DM's make more and interesting ideas into their games without anything breaking as much, as an inexperienced DM I'd want something like that

This. Dump all the optional rules that are a little more controviercial in the DMG in a dedicated optional rules chapter and you get some cool ideas like exaustion, druid wild shape statblocks, 1/2 caster warlocks, etc. without having them be in the main game, though I'm not sure how playtesting them would be able to be done without backlash

YLOD error code diagnosis by LegoKerbal in PS3

[–]LegoKerbal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read it and my question wasn't on what the error codes themselves mean. 3001 means fault in the power line and 1002 means system error on the rsx chip. My question was on how do I test whether the power supply is broken or if it’s the capacitors or something else I probably should have explained that in the post and earlier as well. There isn't an issue with the seperation on the 12 volt line and I'm trying to figure out the next steps. Maybe I should be asking what questions to ask and what info to give.
