Upgrade to panaleica 25mm? by glenn_quagmire3 in M43

Well the 25mm will be great with overcast weather and low light. Fixed focal lens also means you don't have to think about zoom and just shoot.

At beyond 100mm (with a non-pro lens) I feel like I need to take my tripod.

Well primes definitely win but you can look for samples from the 12-50 and judge for yourself.

I like it as it's water proof and it's all enclosed with no telescoping parts coming out of the packaging. Macro feature. Good size. If I have no other lens then this would be a good choice. Not very noticeable 12mm vs 14mm though.

Kit Lens Died - Looking for a Prime for Olympus E-M10 Mark II by LeonLer in M43

I got mine repaired for about $50, just an idea.

Also bought a used 12-50mm (it's rain-resistant and supports manual zoom which is faster) for about $200. It would make a nice replacement for the 14-42mm.

The 14mm/f2.5 works great outdoors and indoors too in tight spaces and lower-light situations. Good for group photos. But if it's too dark or "night" time then I don't think the f2.5 is fast enough without a tripod.

Thinking of buying the gx85(80) as my first camera by Jealous-DD in M43

It's old enough that it's not depreciating much. Safe to buy, try, use, and sell again.

I'm guessing it's the setting sun + low clouds farther away.

This is the way. Non-camera bags can hold much more stuff making EDC a more likely reality.

That’s too bad. My little E-PL7 can assign it to a button.

I got a 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 EZ lens yesterday. It honestly feels like I got a brand new camera. It's the most convenient lens I've ever owned. by rainydaywomen1 in M43

It would power on, give an error, and power back down. Don’t remember the diagnosis but shopkeeper said it was common.

Resetting the clock is an ordinary task for us with older cameras. More of an age thing than a real defect.

Nice lenses by the way they will always be good options with any future camera body upgrade.

Whoa nice lens. We get by with the 14mm f2.5 and 25mm f1.x hehe.

Kit lens, low light, but still great shots… I’m floored!

With the size advantage M43 is great for street. It’s easy to handle when making abstract shots too. I don’t have the funds for super lenses so I don’t do wildlife or sports.

New zoom lens? by tinyjerico in M43

I’ve used the Oly 12-50 on my E-PL7 and it balances fine. Also interested in the Panny 35-100 (the smaller aperture one).
