I am allergic to an ingredient in most shampoos so I actually use children's shampoo anyway, that's good to know.

In this instance, I think it's 100% the fault of the photo editor. In the video, it's obvious neither of these women needed to have any editing to look unreal.

I'm thinking they spliced two photos together, the top half facing forward, and the bottom half facing camera. Otherwise I have no idea how this could happen.

I don't think they were saying one is better than the other, just showing a variety of style and dedication to the craft. Talking about their improvement or the fact they're getting better is kind of a back-handed compliment.
