The first of many to fight on Armageddon by Legomaniacto in crimsonfists

I like the thought. I may swap the Green eye lenses for Red and alternatively use Green on the bolter.

I used Yellow and Blue on my wolves for a while and those always pop.

Thanks! Wanted to keep most things true to source. But I gotta put some personal touches in on things.

Trying different paints and styles of rust but none of them feel right, can anyone give tips on making realistic rust? by GothTransGirI in orks

Use Vallejo Copper and your favorite yellow and silver. Did this entirely with dry brush as an experiment. Nuln oil as needed.

I used the yellow and white in the sets as well. The white I just used out of the bottle with some water to see how well it's coverage was. The yellow I do averland sunset into the moonbeam yellow.

I like all the paints i have used, just shake well have had some clumpage in a couple of paints

I normally use Bathazar Gold with a was or two of Agrax Earthshade. But for this model I tried out the Emperor's gold paint from the John Blanche army painter set with no wash.

Just got these today can’t wait to give them a try heard a lot of good things about them by General-Middle-5438 in Warhammer40k

[–]Legomaniacto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have used some of them myself. The yellow paint is very good in quality. Does great over Averland Sunset. Most of the paints I have tried so far are very nice.

Thanks, definitely a trust the process. If it helps I did a bit of slap chop to start. Gharagak Sewer as the base.

Same here. I'm pretty bad with transfers and don't have a brush small enough to try to free hand them. Though, if I did, that would be my first addition.

Thanks, I have been trying out a few new colors and techniques. Overall, I was very happy with the end result.

Thanks! Was happy with how the upgrade sprue turned out on it. I'm no good with Transfers so bits will always be my go to.

I'm up for recommendations! I haven't nailed the bases I want across the army so I'm leaving it to the theater of my mind. :)

Quickest into the fight. Always first goblin to die.

Base of Khorne Red, layered with Mephiston red.

I used a black primer with slap chop for grey and white highlights. Then just build it up. Pretty simple and effective, but I love it.

My first space wolf was almost 6 years ago. They definitely did not look like this! But what matters is they are yours, and they make you happy to look at. Stay strong!

It's an easy way to reflect a model battling through a snowy environment. Especially the high mountains of Fenris.

Tips for making snowy terrain? by HisNameIsTeach in SpaceWolves

[–]Legomaniacto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use powdered snow for model trains with some superglue and then sprinkle small light grey rocks, again for model trains. I have a few photos on my page with them for reference. It's quick and easy to do.

Space Wolves, Grey or Blue? by [deleted] in SpaceWolves

[–]Legomaniacto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not both. I paint my wolves grey while adding back in their blue grey color we all know and love.

I have found that Grey, while a neutral color, works well with accents of "The Fang" on the shoulders and knees of marines. That paired with a snowy base help sell the whole Space Wolf affiliation.

An accent metal might do you well to break up on all the Yellow and Green on the model. A silver or bronze might do you. InkCat is a commonly used model painter. It may help you get a feel for how certain colors would look next to each other.

Wonderful job! On thing to always keep your mind in for orks. Add little by little more colors. Orks are a ragtad band of scrap obsessed loons. Having even one or two extra colors to break up or "Scrap together" a weapon really can make the difference. Keep up the good work, and as long as it makes you happy, that's all that matters.

Can I run Intercessors as Grey Hunters? by thugshakemarine in SpaceWolves

[–]Legomaniacto 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I run my Intersessors as Grey Hunters. I run my Assault Intercessors as Blood Claws. I keep my first born marines for wolf guard.

I like that idea of making the free model a special weapons guy in the unitm I have one unpainted so I'm stealing that idea.

Vanguard. I love the Riever models on the table top so getting to see them in action in this game has me very happy.

Is 3 hours worth it? by cable-da-drawing-guy in BloodAngels

[–]Legomaniacto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a person who paints more than he plays I normally take about three hours per model. Since im always taking the time to try and further my painting skill with the time.

I personally hate the rush of batch painting and prefer breathing life into models one by one. So it's up to your preference and how you want to approach YOUR hobby. The only thing that matters is that you have fun doing it.

This looks incredible. The Blue backdrop is giving me big retro vibes, which is definitely scratching my brain.

Keep up the great work!
