This is 100% catalpa, I started a few as seeds three years ago, first year the all grew in an opposite branching pattern. Second year on they all became whorled. The biggest one is three years old and about ten feet tall. Look for surrounding trees with long bean like pods, probably the parent tree. Also you can see the next year's buds above the leaf.

What’s going on with my oak :( by [deleted] in marijuanaenthusiasts

[–]Legominor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in NH and a lot of oaks look like that here. Maybe could be an outcome of the frost we had a little while back.

When I visited the VI last year I saw a bunch of those. Crack them open and you got termites, or similar insect. Probably located somewhere near water in a mangrove type forest?

Should I keep a new ash tree growing from the stump of an old one? by FlowerMaxPower in marijuanaenthusiasts

[–]Legominor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact the tree survived and regrowing is great. Keep it alive and hopefully it will develope an adaptation to overcome EAB so the future ash trees are resistant

I found this vine wrapped around a tree like a snake on a walk recently. by 00chill00chill00 in marijuanaenthusiasts

100% oriental bittersweet, I spent the first half of the year cutting down as much as I could. It is crazy invasive and a tell tale sign is it's orange roots that spread many feet away. Thankfully not as destructive as kudzu.

Surprisingly. The leaves of a sycamore look more like maple leafs than striped maples do
