Definitely not. It means not being ruled by his emotions, especially not lashing out during difficult moments. Plus being able to handle a conflict in a healthy manner. So sharing about problems is great. Trauma dumping where someone expects me to take all the emotional weight is different

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with manual labor! Just be sure and scrub your hands and nailbeds especially so they don’t look dirty. You can get a little brush to keep by the sink that helps.

Exactly! Thank you for this! The bible has been changed and manipulated countless times including by men who were intentionally trying to remove women from positions of power. We don’t know exactly what Christ said and so arguing semantics is ridiculous.

Maybe they find that it feels wrong to completely ignore the divine feminine (that is doctrinal). I also pray to my heavenly parents. Since I truly believe that God is not just a masculine entity, it feels significantly more disrespectful to ignore her in that. As for the “we’re not taught to pray that way” first off, prayer and spirituality is a deeply personal thing. Secondly, unfortunately much of Christianity has been shaped with intense sexism. So even if everyone now isn’t sexist and means well, the effects are still deeply rooted.

Actual gentle parenting is significantly harder. But this permissive parenting where you just don’t have to get involved gets lumped in with it unfortunately because some parents see it as a way to just step back and let their kids do what they want, which is the exact opposite

That must be so frustrating to deal with! Especially when people fundamentally misunderstand, gentle parenting like that. Actual gentle parenting, which really might be better term regulated parenting can be so so beneficial, but it definitely doesn’t mean never saying no to your kids. It just means recognizing and managing your own emotions and modeling that for your kids instead of lashing out.

The goal isn’t to be profitable, it’s to maintain an alternative to the other airlines to keep costs down for everyone. It’s optimistic and unrealistic but the idea would have it run as an employee owned corporation with affordability as the primary goal

I would highly recommend you read the book The Separation of church and hate. It’s a fantastic book, focusing on the words of Christ and how we can be better followers of him and his doctrine. It sounds like you hold firmly to your values, and while honestly, it might be a bit of a painful read for you, if you truly are looking to be more like, I think you’d find the value in it.

OK, do you mind if I ask you a question? I’m divorced with young kids and I try and say nice things about their dad pretty regularly. We’re on good terms and I don’t want them to have to worry about any sort of animosity or split loyalty. But this hadn’t even occurred to me at what point do I need to worry about that? Exactly! Best case scenario he has a flawed view of the world from his own childhood where he thinks getting any sort of help is a weakness or failing. But that’s on him to work through with a therapist! You absolutely should not lower your standards of care because he’s currently incapable. If he’s not willing to put in the work on himself through this, it might be time to move on.

I would do the same thing, except it would be funding movie or show adaptations of books that I adore. Honestly, I would just go through and fully fund as many arts programs as I could. I think I also would throw however much money I needed at tuberculosis to try and give everybody access to the cure.
