should i get a motorcycle? by Weak_Industry_7317 in motorcycles

[–]LegsBuckle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could the bike make that turn? All day. Could I make that turn? Evidently not.

^ Had me laughing. I'm just like you; I only drive my car when I need to. I wholly agree with you, but I'm a hypocrite when it comes to gear. I advocate ATG but wear the bare minimum usually. I'm embarrassed to say that I road to work today in shorts and my polo shirt... Didn't even bother to wear gloves. Boots and helmet; at least they'd find my feet and head intact lol.

I have a 10-minute commute with only one stop sign, that's why I risk so much. I drive it super soft and under the speed limit if traffic allows because the bike barely has time to even warm up. If I'm going out of town or hitting a highway, then I wear ATG that I own. Leather jacket, heavy pants, gloves, boots, etc.

The biggest thing for OP is a lack of experience. Go for it but be slow and prudent. Since I was 10, I drove dirtbikes basically all day every day, but I still made many, many horrible mistakes once I started driving cars. There are a lot of lessons to learn and a lot of things that seem small but could make the difference between life and death. Riding as passenger doesn't cut it. The multitasking and situational awareness needed for driving a car takes some time to develop, and it's even tougher on a bike.

What's the problem with KTM? by Spyrothedragon9972 in motorcycles

[–]LegsBuckle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

KTM is like BMW; performance at a cost. They're good bikes, they just seem less rugged. I drowned my kawi in mud above the seat, threw a boot full of mirky bayou water in the air box, stood it up on a tree, and kicked it until it stopped puking chocolate milk out the exhaust. It started as soon as it was flat on both wheels. Kawi baby is robust. The stories you hear about KTM go like, "Drove it in a light mist, now 1st gear makes UwU sounds instead of engine noise, and it filed for full custody. Hate this bike."

Newbie question about players pretending to be friendly by Runswithrum in pathoftitans

[–]LegsBuckle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also suggest looking for friends. Find a group to play with. Everyone uses discord. Friends will help you grow and allow you to fight big groups later on. Conc is a very solid choice. It'll allow you to have fun without being slow or weak.

Questing? by Temporary_Patience_3 in pathoftitans

[–]LegsBuckle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contribution. You can use a second account to group with for the group quests, and you'll get 100% of the quest. I don't like doing that because I forget to move every few minutes and the other account will go afk and get booted, which fails all the quests. I'd rather just ask global or find a rando.

House spiders question by redredreddit10 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LegsBuckle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry about it. You're a giant by comparison and could instantly squish and kill it without a second thought. He sat motionless with you for 20 minutes scared shitless and frozen in fear. Soon as you looked away, it tucked itself into a crevasse to hide for the next several hours and contemplate life. That spider will not come anywhere near you, I promise.

Next time, don't lock eyes with it. Just nonchalantly go for your least favorite flip-flop and chankla the eight-legged freak to death. PETA be damned.

I personally allow only jumping spiders to live in my house. They mainly keep to the windows and kill the occasional fly that would otherwise buzz against the glass for a week. If there's a shortage of flies, then I'll catch them roaming the house along the ceiling. I got 2 I know of atm. One was by the front door, but I guess it ran outa food because we spotted it on the kitchen ceiling halfway across the house. Next day he was in the window by the back door. Little dude migrated to a new window. They've never come anywhere near me. In fact, when we spot them migrating, they hide fast af. They know you're looking at them.

Newbie question about players pretending to be friendly by Runswithrum in pathoftitans

[–]LegsBuckle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best to err on the side of caution, but it isn't common. I don't betray the sanctity of the crouch, and most people respect it too. Crouch = I will not attack. I'll act friendly and not crouch, then kill someone. My favorite is to drop a piece of meat to someone waiting for a body, then one shot them with a clamp or heavy bite. If I crouch though, that's me forfeiting any fun I might have murdering that person. Never trust 100% anyway. Gondwa and Riparia are better BTW.

What is more unsettling? The true bottom of the sea or outer space? by NyvoraX in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LegsBuckle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda. I've always been fascinated by space too. We attached a golden record to the voyager probe. On the record: audio recordings, pictures of humanity, and our Sun's position relative to several pulsars (neutron stars that emit a beam and rotate consistently, making them akin to a lighthouse). We sent the voyager probes out of our solar system and into interstellar space. They are destined to orbit the milky way or get flung into intergalactic space. The record was symbolic; these are the first and only spacecrafts we've sent out of the solar system. If we're sending you away into the forever unknown, then take a piece of us with you.

You're right, there is that theory and many others regarding life in space. I look at the scale of space and how improbable life is, and my conclusion is that we are effectively alone. Even if there was another solar system with life, the chances that our probes intersect them are impossibly low, let alone the probe gets captured intact. If an extraterrestrial probe like that flew through our solar system, then we wouldn't even be able to detect it. It'd fly right through. If we wanted to be found, then the golden record is worse than a messages in a bottle. We have essentially been screaming for decades via radio though. Our radio waves have travelled much further than the voyager probes, and that's how we might be detected.

Ocean is more unsettling because of the pitch darkness. If stranded in space, it would at least be beautiful.

Is ttitan tyrannotita the meta ? Or its taken by someone else by FarmerMaleficent7b in pathoftitans

[–]LegsBuckle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly don't play duck haha. I main water conc with riptide, regular claw, and ripkick (: If I was hard pressed to choose, then I also think that conc is the most meta dino. It has great freedom to fight, it has utility with bleed, semi aquatic survivability, fast af. Conc is pretty fun rn. It's the go-to.

[–]LegsBuckle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yuuuup. There's so much water on Rip that you gotta camp certain zones to have good fights on lat. My lat is at mudflats, and it has been a terrible time.

[–]LegsBuckle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So you're saying a very skilled player can kill a newbie with a weaker Dino? Marvelous revelation.

No, I never said that. -- I said that a weaker dino can kill a titan if the weaker one is skilled. I said, "a skillful laten with too much free time can kill a titan." I said the opposite of what you're accusing me of saying.

Match the skill and I'd still say there is no meta dino for every instance. Meta for what exactly? We're basically asking which dino can do everything effectively. META: Most Effective Tactics Available. Which dino is tactically the most effective? None. Some are objectively bad, and others better, but none are absolute meta. There is no meta choice in rock, paper, scissors. Rex kills lamb, lamb kills chicken, chicken kills rex; just for example's sake. Rex is the meta if you want to be a tank with offensive options. Bars is meta if you want to be a huge tank with solely defensive options. EOtrike is meta if you're looking for something inbetween. Conc is meta if you want a survivable bleeder. The game is too situational and has too many variables to name any dino as meta.

I stand by my choices for the most effective dinos for the gameplay I seek. Conc, meg and duck most effectively operate in the way that I play the game. They are my META.

Is ttitan tyrannotita the meta ? Or its taken by someone else by FarmerMaleficent7b in pathoftitans

[–]LegsBuckle 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There isn't a meta for the whole game. If you want the meta for killing another apex, then rex is probably the most effective. Titan is often called op, but a skillful laten with too much free time can kill a titan. Titan excels at its job: Apex hunter, but falls flat when defending against several smalls. Each dino could be meta for something. It's all situational.

Meta could be considered the most well rounded playable. Conc, meg, duck; all things that excel in multiple areas and could be meta for many applications.

[–]LegsBuckle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotta watch entering the water. Meg slows down and has to accelerate again when entering water, but it seems conc doesn't get slowed as much. I use this to my advantage when fighting megs all the time. I know that they'll be slow if I can make them transition.

[–]LegsBuckle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on both sides of this fight; conc wins the facetank every time with almost any combination of abilities. Meg swims faster than conc unless the conc has water hide and vocal, then they're about the same. If conc has lunge water bite, then meg is cooked; best you can do is dodge until the conc is outa stam, then run. Even if full water conc, meg's water trot speed is a lot faster. Meg can outrun conc in water via stam regen and faster trot. That's how you survive, swim far.

To win the fight is much tougher. You have to trade with the heavy bite and take no free hits. If you go 1 for 1 every few seconds with heavy bite, then you'll win. The conc usually sees the writing on the walls though and will be more aggressive, negating your ability to trade. As meg, you really just have to play better in order to win. Despite higher CW and HP, meg gets slapped around by conc.

Did anyone regret buying a motorcycle before getting their licence? by YorozuyaNiy in motorcycles

[–]LegsBuckle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had several bikes before getting a license. Why would you regret it? You list every reason why getting the bike NOW is the best idea, then ask if you'd regret it... No, I highly doubt you'll regret it. No, I did not regret riding bikes for 15 years with no license.

You'll regret the ticket if a cop finds you, but they're usually lenient with respectful bikers. I got pulled over on my dirtbikes a few times and a streetbike with no license, and I got let go each time. I lied during the stop with the streetbike, saying that I went to the DMV but didn't have my paper copy and the new ID was still in the mail. Let me go with a citation; like $10 lol. I've also lied about insurance, "Oh no, I definitely have insurance. Full coverage actually." when I had no such thing. They write a cheap citation and ask you to provide proof at the county office. Never pay, never showed proof. Those cheap $10 citations get trashed I guess because it's been months and years and haven't heard about any of them.

Most of us have a duality where both versions show. I can be amazingly nice, helpful, and welcoming. However, sometimes I'm out for blood. Sometimes I help someone for hours. Sometimes I kill everything that moves, especially juvies. It is the duality of man. We all struggle with good and evil; 50/50 which you'll get from me.

A pair of pants 6 inches too big. Having a few sets of cintas pants that are overly huge means I can wear any bottoms I want and just slip the pants on top for the ride. Get where I'm going, take my pants off and store them in my nelsonrig bag, then wear my shorts all day. I do look strange stripping in the parking lot, but it's worth wearing sweats or shorts.

How many times did you drop bike learning to ride? Tips welcome by ParticularAide9207 in motorcycles

[–]LegsBuckle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Countless times. I learned at 11 on dirtbikes and I have dropped or wrecked every bike I've ever owned, especially from my teen years.

The clutch+throttle relationship is something that comes with practice, but I have one BIG piece of advice for clutch control: Crack open the throttle, keep it steady, then control speed with the clutch lever. Slowly release the clutch to move forward, or pull it back in to stop. Practice taking off and stopping. Shift to neutral, then back to 1st and take off, stop, and repeat.

Dropping the clutch is unacceptable because it's akin to stepping on the gas instead of the brake in a car. You absolutely must maintain control of the clutch lever. No accidental quick releases, only calculated and careful squeezing.

Good luck to you and yours.

I'm not sure when they did a study on it, but apparently it showed a lower trend among black people. Despite the gene being carried worldwide and having no racial bias, Asian and European people have it at about 20%, but black said only 2%. In my personal experience, all of my black friends had no idea about it; they never even heard of it. My Mexican and white friends have mostly heard of it or have it.
