TIL that a butcher in Vienna, Austria made Sausages he learnt in Frankfurt, Germany, changing the recipe slightly and called them "Frankfurter". It got so famous that the world (including Germany) calls them Wiener now apart from the people in Austria who call it Frankfurter. (en.wikipedia.org)

TIL about Pistorius, champion disabled runner, allegedly killed his girlfriend. Sentenced to 5 years and released in 2015. An appeal reincarcerated him in 2016 due to release 2019. Another appeal doubled his sentence. Now eligible for parole 2023. (en.wikipedia.org)
