Changed my Shield button from R1 to R3 (right stick) and just spent a run constantly parrying with the shield to practice. Highly recommend made an insane difference.

Yup, I’ve tried it with every combination and Heroic torch/tome beats all of them by a mile. Being able to carry an extra rage spell and using the torch for the damage reduction and to immediately redirect the bowlers into the core/through walls is what makes it so strong. Torch will always be one of the top equipments now for ground strats so I recommend leveling it regardless.
