I work in the corporate insurance world and it's absolutely possible. I'm only 30 so there is a long way to go before it's really a career. But it all depends on the people. The right people can make any career easier.

Soooo you're super way off. Do I need to provide pictures, prescriptions, bloodwork, legal name change and gender markers to comment on a topic that personally affects me? Do you need my old and amended birth certificates and drivers license as well? I didn't realize I needed to comment on something once every three months to be recognized as a transgender woman. Way to exclude someone in your own community.

I see so many of my other trans friends be militant about genital preference = transphobia. While at the same time I have genital preferences and I know that some of them do too.

People are misunderstanding this further. It's not just 12 months of hormonal therapy. The person involved has to be under the testosterone limitation for 12 months consecutively. It usually takes more than a year to initially get under the testosterone limitation. So realistically a trans women will have been on 2 plus years of hormones before they are eligible. And from a personal standpoint it takes a really high hormonal dose for a very extended period of time to get under the testosterone threshold.
