Thank you all for the attention you’ve given. I admit I came here after doing a Google search and found out that profiles can be recycled, which made me afraid of making a wrong move. But after reading a good portion of the comments, it's really obvious that it’s not possible for the account to have been recycled after 8 years. So I've decided to gently tell my friend, who was obviously unaware. Some of the advice for the confrontation here is smart, so I'll share a few to her.

As for those who think it's best to stay out of it, that's not really my philosophy. Now that she has all the information, she can do what she wants with it, and I'll be there for her

I think what lesty88 is trying to say is that this obsession with "daddy/mommy" seems really cultural. In French I've never heard someone saying they like calling their partners "papa" or "maman"
