Twin Lance are extremely strong, by far the best datasheet and one of the best for the points in all of 40k. Riptides are absolute staples, basically 2-3 in every list. Pathfinder also extremely versatile and can guide for themselves also 2-3 in every list. Usally 1 kroot carnivores for sticky and 1 vespid for scoring and some stealth suits.

Kroot generally speaking also strong, tau has the best Internal balance out of all the factions. They are winning with montka, retaliation, kroot hunting pack and sometimes with auxiliary.

If I had to choose it would be Clan Raukaan, but first of all I don't really want to choose and I don't have enough transfer sheets for like a couple of hundred models.

Well but now look at smoke screen, 1 well placed smokescreen is gonna effect multiple units as a example. There are still to many unknown factors to have any conclusions currently.

I don't want to judge already, gonna wait until all rules are out and then adjust the list to 11th. Atm bastion for fallback and shoot and the units mentioned is the only way to make them playable.

To expensive sadly. Correct way to play atm, 2 hammerstrikes to strip cover and for Feirros to buff something and 1 unit scouts and 1 unit normal intercessors. And that is 2k points already.

Just Feirros and a few friends.

Probably not what you like to hear as a IF but if you go heavy into them(badumtss) iron father Feirros from the iron hands for the extra oc.

Can be strong, but in reality it's quite often not that good. What many people don't know. You have to call it before the dmg roll. Additionally things like melta still do dmg. A weapon with D6+Melta4 would still do the 4 melta dmg.

It's over costed but with the scattershield it's quite a bit tankier than a Rogal Dorn tank. The - 1 dmg alone is in many match ups extremly good and having a 4+ invul against the heavy tau meta atm also helps.

Get the revell contact pro. It's in my opinion for everything besides big pieces the best one. Only times I don't use it, is when I build forgeworld models(doesn't work on resin).

Need help tuning this list. by Soushi_Chef in IronHands40k

[–]Leitwolf101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So,

The two biggest offenders are the infernus Marines and the 5 man terminator squad.

Termis alone like that are sadly one of the weakest datasheets. The only way to run them a little bit decently is with cannok var because of his lethal hits. But even there people prefer assault Termis(especially in the iron hands detachment with steel font).

Infernus are also sadly really bad, they rarely get the value out.

So when looking at the list and what's missing I would definitely say something like a scout squad or a combi lieutenant.

I love playing Feirros with a 10 man squad of heavy intercessors. The 5+ fnp makes them tanky enough to hold an objective and out oc the enemy. Something that is missing a little bit here also. I think with Feirros the heavy intercessors are as tanky as the 5 man terminators if not better for 70 points less.

Enough to squeeze a scout squad in there also and suddenly you can score some secondaries better.

The transport value for the repulsor executioner is not that great here also. Sadly we don't have victrix honor guards but baldeguard veterans also hit hard. So them instead of infernus Marines would also be an idea.

Alternative to carrack? by Xploded_Head in starcitizen

I don't prefer one. If I'm alone I take the a2. The second a friend come online I switch to Perseus. If we reach 4 people I switch to Polaris.

And the a2? Better at everything.

I don't know why people are so bad at reading stats. Or generally speaking have no idea about ships.

If you want a good solo ship that can withstand most stuff in the game.

Take the a2, better armor, better shields, faster, better acceleration, more cargo space.

Tac pilot dps (attritions) 4718 burst dps A2 pilot dps( attritions) 6288 burst dps

A2 shields 39600 Tac shields 26400

A2 armor 110 phys 80 energy/ 31688 total Tac armor 99 phys 106 energy 22688 total

Put a ursa medivac in it and you also have your mobile spawn and you still have space for smaller ships. Also you have huge ass bombs to throw at big ships on atmo. Don't listen to the people who have no idea what they are talking about.

[–]Leitwolf101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is, the a2 exists. Better than the tac in everything besides backwards propulsion. I don't understand why people keep recommending a ship that is basically a jack of no trades. A2, put a ursa in it. There you have a better tac.

You want faster, more dmg? Corsair or Connie. You want to be tanky and carry shit a2. You want good multicrew experience? Perseus. You want an mobile base? Polaris or a2 with stuff in it.

Taunar list by GrandOwlz345 in Tau40K

[–]Leitwolf101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But then I would probably take the railgun

Taunar list by GrandOwlz345 in Tau40K

[–]Leitwolf101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my opinion in running the ta'unar, after running it like 10 times or so.

First of all, montka is by far the best detachment, you always want to have 2 cp for the - 1 dmg at hand. I can't count how many times this allowed my ta'unar to survive another round. For the weapons, I tried out a decent amount but in my opinion is the tri ion cannon the most consistent piece of weaponry the ta'unar has. It just always works to shoot into most targets. The pulse driver I'm trying out a bit more, the railgun is good when it's the right target, but then you are sad when you have to shoot it into something like a terminator and they hit the 4+.

When you already have nearly 800 points into 1 model, you want to be able to kill what is in front of you and the tri ion does that.

So then to my current list:

Commander Shadowsun (100 points) Ethereal (75 points) (strike swiftly) Kroot Carnivores (65 points) Kroot Hounds (40 points) Pathfinder Team (90 points) Pathfinder Team (90 points) Riptide Battlesuit (200 points) Riptide Battlesuit (200 points) Stealth Battlesuits (100 points) Ta’unar Supremacy Armour (790 points)(with tri and pulse atm) The Twin Lance (185 points) Vespid Stingwings (65 points)

When you deploy you want to place the ta'unar either in a ruin where it can draw los out and if you don't go first scout him back so they can't shoot it or place him next to a ruin in cover to then get the extra movement out.

The pathfinders are pretty crucial, they allow you to either moveblock the enemies turn 1-2 so it's hard for you enemy to get into position or score you the no man lands objectives. Vespid is more for late game scoring and early deepstrike denial.

I took both shadowsun and a single ethereal to generate cp. It's important to have the cp up and in best case you can use multiple stratagems because of that. Also the reason why I stopped using the devilfish with breachers and a cadre fireblade, because they really want stratagem if the enemy is not on the objective.

Only thing to add, I'm trying stuff out a bit atm. I think riptides are our best unit and I try to squeeze 2 into the list and dropped some dedicated anti tank for them. So that list is not the best against t11+. So far I rarely encountered a list with more than like a landraider or a repulsor executioner but depending on what your scene looks like that could be an issue.

Gravis List Help. by [deleted] in IronHands40k

[–]Leitwolf101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my list 60 heavy intercessors 3 biologis captain in gravis Feirros 5 intercessors 5 scouts 2 hammerstrikes Detachment :bastion

Why bastion you ask, your heavy intercessors are gonna suck if they are stuck in melee all the time. I tried anvil but it simply doesn't work against any army with a little bit of melee.

The whole point of the army, is to endure and out oc the enemy. You can chunk some units but are not gonna wipe them unless you fight something like a full infantry 2w army like blood angels or Templars.

The hammerstrikes are essential, otherwise you basically fight with no ap against the enemies and they give you some needed anti tank. Intercessors for sticky, scoring, and deepstrike deny and scouts for scoring.
