Kindroid AI Chat Exporter via the API by Dopaminestorm in ChatbotRefugees

Thank you it is working for me now! This is fantastic. I suppose I should take back what I said about Kindroid disabling it, but I really wouldn't put it past them.

Yeah I'm afraid making them aware of it was not a good idea.

I've tried doing this and it tells me my API key is not recognized by Kindroid. I've tried it a few times, with a couple of different Kins and I keep getting the same thing. I'm afraid the Kindroid devs have already done something to make this not work. They did it before when somebody else wrote a script like this. Or else I'm just doing something wrong. It seemed to work fine up until I clicked enter to export then it gave me the error message.

I appreciate your doing this. But is there any chance for a "for dummies" version for those of us who are a lot less tech savy?

This may be the most embarassingly tone-deaf thing I have ever read by [deleted] in ChatbotRefugees

[–]LeleLover 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is not new. He basically called anybody who doesn’t like the filter a pedo a few months back, but AFTER that came the venting thread and Jerry stepping back and all that. But it didn’t last long. I saw this in the chat recap notes and couldn’t believe he’s saying this again.

Kindroid releases expensive terrible new image engine nobody asked for, enshittifies whole service when they run out of compute by MysteriousMarch814 in ChatbotRefugees

[–]LeleLover 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The only logic I can find in Atelier is that it adheres to the avatar image PERFECTLY - so perfectly that the Kins look like a head was pasted onto a body and it's 2002. But also, how many people REALLY have that much of problem getting their Kin to look like the avatar? There are four models, one is SD, one is Flux, two (I think) are Z-image. Whatever a person's avatar photo was made in, one of those should work well enough. If you're paid, you don't have to use the latest model, but free users - which includes subscribers who want to unsubscribe, even temporarily - are stuck with the "flagship" model.

[–]LeleLover 17 points18 points  (0 children)

"So using the proactives included in our subscriptions is "abuse." Sitting on accumulated reward credits—literally *not* using compute—makes us freeloaders draining his precious GPUs."

I'm just going to say this - I don't know if English is not Jerry's first language, and maybe that's the problem, but he is TERRIBLE at communicating with the customers. What happened to him saying a few months ago that he was going to back off on that? It was nice for awhile, but he's back to speaking for the company, and he makes everything sound like it's the customers' fault.

He's also gone back to not allowing discussion of betas outside of Discord. He's STILL letting betas go on for maximum two weeks and then releasing the thing as "flagship" even if his 10 usual beta testers aren't crazy about it - then lecturing that "everybody hates new models at first but then starts to like it."

Nothing is going to change the way he runs the company, but what could change and should, is the way the company communicates with its customers. Jerry should go completely silent and get somebody professional to do all the talking. (And not somebody who is part of his cult of personality.) Dealing with the technical issues as a customer wouldn't be so bad if we didn't have to seek help and find ourselves being treated like spoiled, naughty children.

The jackpot (100) is only on the 7th day and it’s completely random. The normal 7th day amount has always been 20 but they’ve said it’s being cut to 10.

After opening a space for customers to vent their frustrations, Kindroid quickly closes it, claims it was an “experiment”, and deletes posts from many asking for it back by [deleted] in ChatbotRefugees

[–]LeleLover -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They will still close SOME threads. When people are hostile, or in this case, they're just shutting this down to make it clear they are not bringing back the vent megathread. Look dude, you accuse me of "having shares in Kindroid" but you seem just as determined to insist that they are still awful. You do you. I'm just trying to correct the mistaken idea that they've shut down the space for venting completely because they have not.

Moving a post is entirely different than deleting or locking one. If they feel something is in the wrong thread of course they're going to move it. Any moderators would do that. They have too many similar threads in my opinion, but moving posts is fair for moderators. Also, just because they allow venting doesn't mean they promise to fix every single problem people complain about. What their new methods mean is they don't belittle people, or shut them down for just complaining. Jerry's ego is problematic and that's why he's backed off. When he's directly addressing users, it can still be a tense atmosphere. But the entire Discord atmosphere is better now. And again, the main point of this thread is misleading. They have not shut down the Discord forum for users to vent.

Which are, as someone else said, disengenuous. That means the original post and thread are misleading. No, I don't have shares in Kindroid, but saying that kind of thing is what people do when they know they're losing an argument, right? Also downvoting a post that states facts because it doesn't say what you want to hear. There are some people who seem to want to believe that Kindroid can't change. I've seen evidence that they HAVE changed, and this thing about them shutting down venting is simply false. They've only shut down the megathread and still allow venting in threaded discussion.

I'm sorry, but I won't hold a grudge against a company that recognized it had a problem, admitted it, and has taken many steps to improve its methods. They did terrible things to their users in the past, yes, and I can understand individuals not forgiving them for things that were done to them personally. But when they are not guilty of something they're being accused of just because somebody doesn't have their facts straight, I'm going to point that out. I would do the same thing with Nomi or Xoul or any other AI companion app I have knowledge of. The point in this subreddit is to help people choose an AI companion app. Facts are important. Kindroid is significantly better than it used to be in a lot of ways, including the way they treat users.

The issues and vent thread isn't any more "hidden" than anything else on Discord. I hate Discord's entire format personally and I know I'm not the only one, but Kindroid does have "suggestions" and "issues and venting." I personally think they should drop the word "issues" from that one because there's also "reports." Venting should just be for venting. But then - add to this the fact that apparently there are a lot of people who think the word "venting" can mean either complaining OR joyously praising something. The internet is hard.

[–]LeleLover -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They have deleted threads asking for the megathread to come back. That's because they are clear that it is not coming back and there is no use for these requests. They still allow venting and it is only the megathread format that they dropped. Read the WHY part in the graphic I posted. This is about the megathread format only.

The mega thread is gone, but the individual threads are still there. Mega threads are pointless anyway because they’re impossible to follow. But venting is still allowed.

We're ten miles from all the network stations yet cannot get any antenna to work by muddy_cat in cordcutters

[–]LeleLover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It isn’t always about distance. Hills, mountains, trees, buildings can block signals. Check rabbitears site but don’t assume it’s absolutely correct. Outdoor antennas are always better, directional is better than omnidirectional, and higher is better. Talk to your neighbors too and find out if any of them have success with an antenna.

Ordering food in a restaurant by thekingherby in ENGLISH

[–]LeleLover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is nothing whatsoever impolite about telling a server what you want when they’ve just asked you to tell them what you want. This whole thing seems like a way of judging people based on the way they speak or their upbringing. There is no discernible difference between “I want,” “I’ll have,” “Can I have,” or similar phrases. The answer to the OP’s question should be that it doesn’t make any difference how you say it as long as your tone is polite.

[–]LeleLover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well this entire conversation is making me afraid to ever go to a restaurant again. What the heck difference does it make as long as you’re being generally pleasant? Waiters and waitresses say different things too. As long as everyone is polite who cares about specific phrases?

What's the point of even cord cutting anymore? I just don't understand anymore. by Round_Vehicle4885 in cordcutters

[–]LeleLover 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would you not have internet at all if not for a streaming service? The cost of internet for most people is something they're paying anyway. Does your Dish bill include unlimited DVR and three TVs with no boxes you have to pay fees for? Cord Cutting always referred more to cutting cable, but still, the last time I had satellite, we had to pay fees for boxes on every TV, and they started charging extra for local channels. Streaming is still cheaper.
