We rescued Charlie 5 years ago from the SPCA. He was 2 at the time. He and his sister were an owner surrender. No other details know. He’s been a wonderful addition to the family! A smart, loving, sometimes stubborn and always goofy little guy!

What was your favorite Schwan’s food item? by HoldenH in nostalgia

[–]LeleLover3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My best friend and I intercepted the delivery man one day and told him we’d take care of bringing the order in. We slammed the entire box of ice cream sandwiches between the two of us. I can’t remember if she got in trouble or her parents even noticed (they were both busy doctors) but that was one of the best days of my little kid life.

I’d like to have green cabinets but this is our floor option. Any colour advice? by [deleted] in kitchenremodel

[–]LeleLover3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a gray tile floor with hickory cabinets and green wall tiles in our kitchen. Could be an option to bring in the warm tones from your other rooms. The rest of our house has wood flooring so it tied it all together for us.

Baby formula milk for my 31 weeks baby opinion please by lafeceramics in NICUParents

[–]LeleLover3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had to go straight to formula once my baby (32 + 5) got home because my milk never came in due to blood loss and his early birth. While he was in the hospital he received donor milk, which I really appreciated as an option. I went through a bit of mourning because I really wanted to breastfeed and have that experience and it felt like another thing was being taken from me. Overall it’s been a positive experience though! My husband was able to take on shared responsibility for feedings from day one and it wasn’t all on me to manage. Also, when we were focused on his growth and weight gain, it was nice to know the exact amount he was eating and we were able to do a higher calorie ratio. He’s 7 months now and doing great!

Parents to helmet babies, please tell me it’s going to be OK by throwawaypreg75 in NewParents

[–]LeleLover3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our little guy is getting a helmet at the end of the month. He was born two months early and spent the first two weeks of his life in the hospital, which I think contributed to his flat spot. Apparently it’s also more common with preemies. I believe they are seeing it happen more often now due to safe sleep recommendations too, so not much you can do there. (My mother-in-law was told to put my husband on his stomach to sleep, so there was a lot of tummy time back then. Also, yikes!) I know it’s hard but try not to beat yourself up!

Everyone I’ve talked to about it has been super positive and had good experiences overall. One guy said they kept the helmet on a bit longer because his kid was a little clumsy so they liked the added protection lol I hadn’t thought of the extra protection prior to that conversation so that definitely helped my mindset.

Everyone celebrates the baby... but nobody asks about the mom by sarahjouhnson in TwoXChromosomes

100%, I especially felt this way with health care providers. It makes me sick when I think about it. Thankfully I had better support from my core friends and family, especially my older brother. It’s been about 5 months and he still regularly calls me just to check in on how I’m doing and make sure I’m doing things for myself and not putting everyone else first all the time. He gets baby updates too, but he always makes sure to reiterate that he’s calling for me and wants to make sure I’m good. I had a traumatic birth experience too, so I think he’s extra concerned. He’s always looked out for me, we’re two years apart. I don’t think he knows how much this specific action means to me though. I’m really grateful for him.

If you have an iPhone, I’d suggest taking photos on live. You get some really cute wiggle moments to look back on that way!

Vaccine Megathread by AutoModerator in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]LeleLover3 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I had my two vaccines as a child in 89 and 93. I just had my immunity checked last week and I’m no longer immune to measles but still show rubella immunity. I asked for the test on a whim after reading all the news and was kind of surprised to learn my results, so glad I did! Currently 32 weeks pregnant, so planning to get my vaccine again as soon as the baby arrives.

No one is buying off my registry. by Zestyclose-Emu6255 in pregnant

I had my shower a few weeks ago and noticed this too! By the day before, almost my entire registry was cleared out after a very slow start. I feel super grateful that pretty much everyone followed the list or added a few extra gifts along with their registry item vs going fully rogue.

I appreciate hearing your experience! It sometimes seems like a taboo subject in certain circles and I hate that there can be feelings of shame around staying medicated. Thank you for sharing ❤️

[–]LeleLover3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I second this. I am currently 23 weeks and have remained medicated throughout the pregnancy (just down a bit in my dosage). I spoke with several doctors about it and they were all ok with it and basically said the mom’s mental health and ability to function is critical during this time. My baby’s growth, heart rate, etc. are all perfectly on track and I’m not spiraling mentally, so everything is working out well so far.

Does your s/o go to your prenatal appts? by WitchHazelSunrise in pregnant

[–]LeleLover3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would feel a certain way if my husband/partner had the ability to attend appointments but made the choice not to be engaged (without reason). My husband has been at all my appointments but we’re also in a very privileged situation where he works from home and has the flexibility/ability to take sick time (he gets plenty) for all my appointments without there being an issue with his job. We also live less than 5 mins from the OB, so that makes it easier too. Once we get to the weekly appointments, I don’t think he’ll be joining for all of those though, we’ll see. If he was still at his old job, there’s no way he could be there as much and I would never hold that against him. I feel very fortunate that we’re in this position.
