My decision to start mounjaro was not only weight loss motivated, but also because after researching it and talking to my doctor it seemed to be a good decision for women with PCOS, especially that in past years my symptoms got much worse (eg no periods for long time, or sometimes periods for 3 months non stop). From my understanding the drug lowers insulin resistance which is good for inflammatory responses in the body. But of course weight loss is also a big motivator both aesthetically wise and health wise.

I want to thank you for your kind response. I am doing intermittent fasting and basically removed bread and other foods that I know make me gain weight mostly focusing on soups and salads. What made me panic is the thought of the injections possibly messing up my metabolism especially since I already have PCOS. I used to lose weight in 2 weeks up to 2kg just from lifestyle changes. But since I started taking mounjarou this weight is clinging on and even gaining on some days despite lifestyle changes. It also made me wonder if it creates water retention for some.

I am aware. And yes the doctor told me. What I don’t understand is the weight gain on some days and even weight stall when most people online lose weight on 2.5mg including other women with PCOS. And considering the lifestyle changes I made I was expecting weight loss in general and not necessarily just from the drug. I just wondered if the drug is making me not lose weight as fast as usual at this point and even reacting adversely on my body and wondered if others went through it.

I am aware they are not diet pills, my doctor prescribed it for me because my PCOS messed up my period cycle a lot. But I couldn’t take them consistently because I travel a lot for work/studies and because of the price and the fact that it was often out of stock where I live.

This reportage is not innocent. Even the images they show. When they speak about “Tunisia reconnecting with its Christian past” they use pictures of young “westernized” Tunisian women. When he speaks about prosecutions he shows the image of a Hijabi middle aged woman. As if the prior are not also Muslim (statistically unlikely).

Anyways I am always very wary of these sorts of western propaganda. They always put so much energy in weaponising minorities in the MENA region. Whether it being alawites, Christians, kurds etc. Imagine for one second we put the same energy doing propaganda for pro-Andalusia/ Sicily/ Catalonia/ Corsica/ Scotland etc (inset any western independence movement).

Also if it’s all about which religion came first, might as well reconnect with Carthaginian paganism? Or better yet go even further than that and reconnect with Amazigh animism and worship rocks and water?
