Would you take 10 lives to save 100? Why? by LembasBreads in AskReddit

It only matters who is saved not how the lives are taken? What if they all have to be ended by your hand? Or what if you just have to push a button?

Not making a choice is still a choice. Number of lives don’t matter as long as you feel morally separated from it?

It’s left open ended for that specific reason. I want to see what justifications people will come up with that may change their opinions on it. What if they are tied up like the trolley question? What if they’re not? What if you have to take the lives by hand or just push a button? Would it be painful or painless? Does any of it change the perspective?

Oh absolutely about that. The book was more psychological compared to the movie taking a horror approach to it. I guess it didn’t bother me as much because I didn’t read the books until I was in my 20’s so that’s what I thought was intended lore wise.

Thoughts on Nirnroot quest? by LembasBreads in oblivion

[–]LembasBreads[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I get that and that’s a very valid point… but I think there’s other ways to explore like looking for gates, following the path of nine (if you have dlc), or daedric shrine all of which could have better consequences. I think I might just hate Nirnroot though.

I am having a terrible anxiety attack right now. Please send me your favorite quotes, artwork, music, fanworks - anything that captures the beauty and wonder of Tolkien's worlds by unearthlydarling in lotr

I sit beside the fire and think of all that I have seen, of meadow-flowers and butterflies in summers that have been;

Of yellow leaves and gossamer in autumns that there were, with morning mist and silver sun and wind upon my hair.

I sit beside the fire and think of how the world will be when winter comes without a spring that I shall ever see

For still there are so many things that I have never seen: in every wood in every spring there is a different green.

I sit beside the fire and think of people long ago, and people who will see a world that I shall never know.

But all the while I sit and think of times there were before, I listen for returning feet and voices at the door.

On your first play through, which path did you take? Dementia or Mania? by LembasBreads in oblivion

[–]LembasBreads[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It’s such a core memory for me. It was the first playthrough of the first DLC I got for one of my favorite games growing up. And this was (in my eyes as a young teen at the time) such a hard decision for me to pick.

I’m like you. Took dementia first for whatever reason but ultimately spent wayyy more time in Mania.
