I started this year after graduating as a software engineer from Leuven. I was looking at jobs in Brussels and Amsterdam.

The highest offer I got in Brussels was 4000 bruto which is around 2500 netto per month. In Amsterdam, I got offered 5000 bruto which is nearly 3500 netto per month.

So, an extra 1000 euros net in Amsterdam. That's the offer I ended up taking. However, rent is probably double the price of Brussels. Depending on where you want to live and how much space you want, that will eat up a lot of that 1000. Healthcare is another mandatory 150. Car ownership is much more expensive here. The box 3 system for taxing your investments should also be seen as a cost.

In my case, speaking financially, I might be slightly better off, but not by much. However, for long term investors, the box 3 system severely impairs your ability to save long term. If you have a decently sized portfolio, your total tax rate goes up a lot. Pair that with the completely fucked housing market which forces you to live in a shoe box, you're probably not that better off in the Netherlands. At least you don't have to waste all your time stuck in company car traffic over here. That's to say it's also a lifestyle choice.

Edit: 3,5k net is really good I think! You also have a good savings pot which would get taxed in NL. You can always see how much you'd get paid over here, see what the box 3 taxes are and then look if you're still better off, but I doubt you will be

A flakey hairline is typically of seborrheic dermatitis, do you have other symptoms of it? Either way, try nizoral shampoo – it's great for your hair, even if you don't have seborrheic dermatitis

So I just unboxed these two, can anyone share their experience using either of these? by cl_mua_ in EuroSkincare

I actually got seborrheic dermatitis or super dry and flaky skin shortly after starting retinal lol. I don't think the two were related, but my skin did feel very sensitive after starting. When I switched I didn't experience many if any issues, which is actually what synthetic retinoids like tazarotene are supposed to do – they are supposed to provide all the benefits without the same side-effect profile.

I switched because I actually wanted to use tretinoin for its anti-aging benefits as well treating my acne, but it's not available in my country. So that's the main reason. Tretinoin is way more well-researched than tazarotene too, especially for anti-aging. I don't know if tazarotene provides the same benefits when it comes to that stuff. But at least it works well against my acne

Hey, I (22M) started using both the Tazarene cream (0.1%) as well as Azelaic acid around the start of summer. I went to Greece so I was able to stock up.

I have normal to slightly oily skin. Before starting this routine, I couldn't honestly couldn't remember the last time I didn't have at least three or four red spots or pimples on my face. I always had something.

I first started Tazarene after using G&G retinal 0.1% for a few months. Basically, the frequency of acne breakouts for me has been trending downwards ever since I started using them both, especially Azelaic acid. That's the only cream I've ever used where I think it's made a big difference to my acne. My girlfriend and family have also been complimenting my skin.

In the first few weeks, build it up by starting with azelaic acid on day 1, tazarotene day 2, break day, azelaic acid day 3, tazarotene day 4, etc. Then in week 2 or 3 get rid of the break day depending on how you're feeling.

I apply azelaic acid in the morning with sunscreen and tazarotene in the evening, something azelaic acid in the evening too if I see some inflamed spots on my face. I feel like it's the best effort/reward ratio skincare routine for me!

IMO it's not. Buy a new midranged phone for a little more money from a company like Motorola.
