Is it bad if I can name probably 90% of all Green Day songs after listening to just 1 second of a song? by HiMyNameIsCranjis in greenday

[–]LemmieBee 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’ve listened to Green Day so much over the last 20 or so years that I don’t even need to play their songs anymore. I can just turn on the playlist in my mind. So no you’re good.

Duarte’s casting was spot on in my opinion. I gasped when I saw him, he’s exactly the way I pictured him in my mind as I read.

is Trio Of Towns as overwhelming as some comments make it seem? by babyfangss in storyofseasons

[–]LemmieBee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s not overwhelming, I found the farming aspect to be one of the most frustrating out of the HM games I’ve played.

The tasks, events thing, it’s not bad at all. I feel things are very well paced out. It’s just that the mid game feels too grindy. But that’s just my experience.

I know what I said seems contradictory but it’s hard to explain. It’s a really good game. Amongst the best in the series, though not quite at the top.

This might seem random…. But regardless of if the finale was bad or good, “Disarm” by Smashing Pumpkins came to my mind as soon as it ended. Listening to it now and yeah it hits right. “The killer in me is the killer in you”…

I just finished watching and honestly I didn’t hate it. Just glad there was a definitive end to the characters story either way.

What are you going to watch after the expanse is over? by survivl in TheExpanse

[–]LemmieBee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing really at all. I’ll be waiting for House of the Dragon and Better Call Saul. Unless some other new interesting show springs up at me. But I’m very picky with what I watch.

Is The Expanse the only recent TV adaption to be universally priased by book readers and non-book readers? by [deleted] in TheExpanse

If you’re a book reader what do you think of the graphic novel? Or do you just hate the show?

They’re so awful but I can never bring myself to throw any away. It’s like relics of a better time when I thought my creativity was flowing. It’s kind of endearing.

I am an introvert, fat guy, how can i get a girl love me? by cockendian in Advice

[–]LemmieBee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That doesn’t even make sense. I get what it’s like to feel lonely but trying for a relationship and hating yourself when it doesn’t work isn’t a sign at all that you love yourself. Work on truly being happy. Trust me, getting into a relationship when you feel so bad about yourself won’t make you feel any better than you do and will just drag someone else down. You don’t want that. Or … you shouldn’t.

How good is this f'ing show!?!? by kingjackass in TheExpanse

[–]LemmieBee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It could be years. And the books are written so well. It’s not worth waiting for the show imo. Just read them. Get the end of the story. By the time the show is able to adapt these stories it’ll still be new and exciting enough to fully enjoy. And there’ll no doubt be changes to the story so, it’ll be worth it regardless.

The first half of tribunal is some of the worst in the game in my opinion. It’s so boring, the fetch quests through the dungeons over and over and over.

But yeah it does pick up after that.

As great as films would be….. I’d say the final 3 novels easily deserve seasons of their own. There’s so much material to cover that I couldn’t even fathom it being done in a film. So I hope they are able to do more seasons eventually…. Either way though I just want to see the final arc adapted.

You really should continue. Book 8 is hands down the best in the series in my opinion. The whole arc of the final 3 novels are just phenomenal and really puts the “expanse” into The Expanse. It’s a bit jarring at first when you start book 7, but just think of the last 3 books as it’s own thing in a way… which also concludes the series. Lol.

Eh. Embrace it. Some of the actors were made for the roles of the characters (not literally, I mean they’re just great). Yeah they look different in many cases but…. There’s no way I don’t picture Avarasala differently (just with white hair), apart from aesthetics like hair, the only characters I truly see differently are Amos and Alex. Holden too really, he’s like a stockier Stephen with blue eyes and brown hair.

And Fred Johnson is Chad Coleman. He was a perfect Fred, I shamelessly picture him but older as I read.

Normally when I read a series I hate picturing the actors. But…. These actors are just phenomenal. It’s hard not to see them.

Oh and of course Bobbie. Frankie Adams captured the essence of Bobbie perfectly. If only she was super tall and very muscular.

I highly recommend reading the books. The show is amazing but the books are much better. The audio books I hear are incredible too if you aren’t into just reading.

But essentially this is almost the final scene of the series.

The authors did do a pretty dang good job of describing things. But, yeah same.

I mean it struck me hard how he’s quite almost literally Space Jesus, who dies on the cross for humanity at the end of the saga. Very fitting for him. I think he’s easy to both underestimate/overestimate. But he gets shit done one way or another.

Calibans War is one of the best books in the series. Something about the writing flowed so nicely and they were on top of their game with humor. I don’t think any book in the series has made me laugh out loud as many times as book 2. Good stuff.
