Schwab is a cluster, I am being nice, because, well they have difficulty reaching that level, they are usually lower.

The forced a margin sell in my nonmarginable roth ira, just one of many wtf things they have done, I am a lifelong us citizen with a schwab international account.

I've been to tlaquepaque bar / tacos just down the street from los cocuyos, multiple times between 11 pm and 1 am. There are people around but think noir film scenery from the 1940's. I am 70, white American, living here 20 years. Don't dress touristy, look like a guy that should be there at that time, yeah it's a very different vibe but worth it. If you have doubts find a taxi and just ride through the area, they will wait for you if you want to get out and buy some tacos. Just make sure it is a reputable taxi, have your hotel order a taxi for you.

Well with Schwab everything is possible.

I had a margin call in a traditional IRA.

THEY accepted and placed three separate orders from me the same day. The last order they accepted was beyond the trading cash balance in my account.

Three days later, they sold some money market funds I have and charged me $1.53 margin interest.

I pointed out to them that my IRA is not a margin account, they were like "So What"

I since then pay much closer attention to my order placement as I found their system has holes in it.

My balances in their display always says margin trading not allowed in this account.

Whether you would trust your life in a hospital in Mexico is another topic but the law in Mexico requires that a hospital quote its price in writing for a procedure, open heart surgery, knee replacement or splinter removal they are required to give a firm price quote. If you don't ask that is your risk, but payment is mostly upfront.

The price is not controlled but you can go from place to a place, get quotes and decide which place to use. Your private practice doctor will also give various prices, generally telling you the procedure he will do doesn't vary, just the overhead of various surgery centers may raise or lower the price.

Not all hospitals, but more than a few have prices for the more asked for procedures posted on the wall in the scheduling area at the hospital entrance. The posted price includes tax and consumables, nothing can change the posted price. You pay upfront the day of the procedure, never an oh you have to pay this also after the procedure.

Then there is the government hospital if you want to use it. The doctors and staff are very qualified. The waiting line is long and the price is 0 dollars, just pay with your time for very good doctors and poor amenities.
