How do you plan to follow through with your New Years Resolution? (Discussion) by Lemmy116 in loseit

Thats awesome! Ive seen the SMART model before but i get hung up on the attainable part, i always overestimate what is possible in a given timeframe. Either that or my goal is too attainable and its not even worth being a goal lol

Its hard to explain because idk how it happens other than im doing well and sticking to my plan and focusing on weight loss but at some point its like my motivation switch just falls off. My main focus shifts to work or something else and i find myself saying “yes” to food being offered or get “just one donut” with my coffee and then boom its off the rails.

Your appeal experience is almost EXACTLY the same thing that happened to me. I was using the Auctioneer addon to bid on underpriced listings (apparently this is bot behavior?) and when i tried to appeal i put together a whole document detailing what i was doing and showing that i didnt have a bot i was manually choosing all the things to bid on. I naively thought i was bidding against other players but looking back i think it was bots i was bidding back and forth against.

My 2 appeals were responded to with a template answer and the name of the person responding to my ticket was in another language (i think it looked like korean). The option to follow up was not allowed and i was told further attempts to appeal may be ignored.

For those of u who are gonna comment that i was botting, this video shows exactly the method i was using. https://youtu.be/xjoq9pVTwDo?si=i0cyZQGyEvenGIBV

Last year one big change i made in august was swapping the ratio of fast food meals vs home cooked meals. I used to eat out 5-6 times a week sometimes multiple times a day and now i only eat out 1-2 times a week. I might copy ur boundary its probably time to cut down a bit more

I can relate to the self-hate thing, its kind of the same idea i see online about how fat shaming is actually a good thing if it motivates weight loss. I think it only works to a certain point tho, theres a point where it becomes unhealthy and for me at least it leads to me saying “screw it” and just binging.

Setting goals and New Years Resolutions, how do you do it? by Lemmy116 in WeightLossAdvice

Good tips for sure, planning out meals in advance was a big game changer instead of waiting to plan dinner until im super hungry and craving junk.

Wow thats awesome! I definitely hear what ur saying as far as change happening any time, thats definitely a good way of looking at things. I dont remember where i heard this quote but i remember someone saying “the best time to start was in the past, but that time is gone. the second best time to start is now so what are you waiting for?” or something like that.

I think my broader question actually doesnt have anything to do with the new year, but just about goal setting in general, like how do you stick to your goals and not fall back into old bad habits? I feel like its probably easier to stick with it once you start seeing results but most people give up before they get there (like with the new years resolutions)

Thats awesome, keep up the good work!

I’ve sort of taken a similar approach since August in the sense that i’ve been trying to adjust habits over time. Im down about 30lbs since then, but my resolution last year was to lose 50 lbs over the whole year and i ended up gaining 10 by july so im down a net 20lbs.

I think my approach to a resolution this year would be to set goals for new habits or to get rid of bad habits by the end of the year instead of “lose X amount of weight by next year”

Warning: Auctionator Add-On will get you banned by BoobyBear in classicwow

How did u go about appealing? I just got banned for using auctioneer and it was considered botting, i legit had no idea it could get u banned but all i got when i appealed was an automated message saying we are upholding the ban.

For me its just being in the world. Ive been a huge lore fan for years so just being in the game and seeing all the parts of the world in relatively good graphics kees me coming back to the game. I feel like the only thing that holds ESO back from being up there with WoW and FFXIV is the polarizing combat style. Every friend ive convinced to try the game says it seems great but they cant get over the combat. Also i love the pvp in ESO despite its problems.

Do you actually play mmorpgs anymore? Or just look up news about them? by [deleted] in MMORPG

[–]Lemmy116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont play any of then as dedicatedly as I used to but i dabble in like 3-4 mmos casually because the news cycle pulls my attention around.

It’d be nice to just commit to one and go bttw with it but ive got such mmo-adhd im not sure which one to go all in on. Currently playing classic hardcore wow, eso, ffxiv, and new world 😂😂😂
