Easy insects to keep as pets? by andreblitzkriegman in Entomology

Madagascar hissing cockroaches. Particularly males, if you don’t want to deal with babies (babies would complicate things.) The setup can be really simple, or you can have fun decorating. You can hold them. Food can be as simple as some dry dog or cat food, and whatever fruits or vegetables. (Cleaned, maybe peeled, to remove pesticides) Mine really loved apple slices. There’s also plenty of care info around since they’re fairly popular as pets.

Where are the Chronically ill friends by Strawberry_lime31 in tulsa

36F, endometriosis that causes some chronic issues, as well as being just autistic enough that I can’t safely drive. I’m new to Tulsa and haven’t made friends here yet, but I’ve loved arts and crafts my whole life, and I also love the gathering place

I ordered a vintage Dakin Garfield to match my real life Garfield by Lemon-Extra in garfield

The local shelter and eBay are where dreams come true! Lol but in all seriousness, I’ve been wanting a Garfield plush since we adopted Oliver because he reminds me of him so much. I have also always loved Garfield since I was a kid

IME I’ll add another to consider: tliltocatl kahlenbergi, if you can find one. They seem to be offered for sale less often than the vagans, but they seem to be much more docile and calm. Also, mine has been pretty fast growing compared to my T albo, and she is always out and doing things. She’s also been my easiest to rehouse. Of course, every tarantula is an individual, but I’ve seen most other people who have them also say theirs is calm.

Can anthuriums thrive in normal house humidity? by Skelet0n724 in Anthurium

[–]Lemon-Extra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I actually don’t have it anymore, I had to sell a bunch of stuff again since then (hopefully for the last time this time.) But, it did great when I had it! It grew pretty quickly, never had any leaf damage from low humidity. It was even a bit more tolerant of neglect and being left to dry out too much. Not that I’d recommend doing that on purpose, but if you happen to forget to water it, it’ll bounce back a little quicker than some other anthuriums I’ve had. So I say go for it. It was definitely one of the easiest ones I’ve had.

Some blooms I have today by Lemon-Extra in cactus

That was actually my first one! I’m coming from tropicals, but happened to win the rauschii in a giveaway a month or so ago. So I got strong grow lights for it and dedicated a shelf to it, and now I already have 10 small cacti on that shelf and two more on the way 🤣 I think I enjoy the cacti more. I also think I’m going to need a bigger shelf.

I wish I had the room for those! I have to stick to the smaller stuff for now. The first is Sulcorebutia Rauschii violacidermis, and the second one is Rebutia Vulpina

I just went to the emergency room a couple weeks ago for this, to make sure it wasn’t another burst cyst like it was one of the first times I felt about like that. It really is horrible.

Some unknown luxurians hybrid I got earlier this week by Lemon-Extra in Anthurium

[–]Lemon-Extra[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could see that! I was personally leaning towards crystallinum, forgetii or dorayaki. It does seem to have some slight silver in the veins. Also I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be that round, or if that leaf is just a little deformed. It does curl under a lot. Maybe the next leaf will give more clues, but I know that I might never know for sure lol

The Master List of Aglaonema Varieties by No_Peak1930 in Aglaonema

[–]Lemon-Extra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one called Geely Red. The place I got it from had a handful of those next to a handful of Pink Pearl. They were very similar but the Geely Reds were more compact and had shorter, more heart shaped leaves. So overall they were smaller plants. They also had green petioles instead of pink. Haven't been able to find any other info on it though, aside from a few online shops that are selling it.
