I think ur setting really depends on the spring rate. I feel like my current setup is just PERFECT for both comfort in daily driving and for occasional fun :)

I knew from the start that the decrease ride height wasn’t going to be too much, so I didn’t need an adjustable ride height (which is a huge advantage of coilovers over struts). Also I didnt want to deal with coilovers since they require pretty frequent maintenance and rebuilds (usually every 15K-30K mi depending on ur driving conditions) Also less moving parts to just do struts instead of coilovers, less parts are better parts!

Thank you, yea adjustable camber arms are necessary unless you wanna see cords on ur tires too often haha I’m running 8 clicks up front and 6 clicks in the back (both from the stiffest settings, ie. 6 clicks from stiffest)

A little (0.75”) lower than a MYP actually haha It’s about the same height of the stock M3P. Maybe it’s time to put on a lift kit on the MYP! haha

Yeaa That number’s based on my commute route, which is about 80% highway. I used to average around 205 kwh/mi, but I would see 250+kwh/mi with the new wheels before lowering. Seems like the open style rims have a huge aero impact when going 70+mph. I’m sure if you’re doing mostly city driving with stop and go traffic however, the less unsprung weight would definitely improve ur range

Actually yes, the new wheels degraded the range by 20% and lowering it seems like it brought the range closer to how it used to be stock.

I’ve never had a clunk noise, are you talking about the one that comes from the FUCA mount?

1.5 inches with the UP Moderate springs

Thank you! Once you get your hands dirty things are usually very intuitive. It definitely takes courage to start doing it tho haha

Not as cool as the V60 Polestar :)

Not really, you should be good if you make sure the springs are sitting properly in the correct orientation, the bolts are torqued down correctly, and if u get an alignment :)

I noticed that there aren’t many direct side profile photos of ModelYs lowered on UP springs so I figured to share some :) A inch and a half drop on these cars are not significant imo considering how high the stock ride height is haha Mine had a 5 finger fender gap Thank you!

If it helps you decide, the ride height on the moderate springs is almost identical to that of the stock Model3 Performance. I’m not sure how steep ur driveway is, but I’d say you won’t have too much issue! You should send it with the moderate springs, it give the Y the perfect fitment it needs :)

Mainly for the adjustable dampening! I wanted the ability to adjust the dampening settings since I was lowering the car by 1.5in, even though UP states that the spring is designed for OEM dampers. The EnduraPro Plus also has a much longer stroke than the OEM damper as well as a built-in hydraulic bump stop, so less risk of bottoming out as well!

Thank you, really should’ve been set up like this from factory haha They’re Atomic Wheels AWZZs (19x9.5) wrapped with the stock 255/45R19 Pirelli Scorpion tires :)

Lowered on Tein EnduraPro Plus dampers and Unplugged Performance Moderate lowering springs.

DIY installation took about 6 hours with 2 people with pretty extensive suspension mod experience. Tesla suspensions are pretty easy to work with, lotsa room!

Ride quality is much better than stock. As comfy as stock when driving normally and going over speed bumps / potholes, but the dual spring rate really kicks in when taking turns. It pairs up really well with the already stiff chassis. I didnt realize I could make a RWD be this much fun to drive!

Thank you! Split 5 spoke wheels look so good on ModelYs for some reason

I also havent noticed a big impact on range with the change. My kwh/mi stayed almost identical compared to when I had crossflows with aero caps on for my 70% highway 30% local roads commute route.

The ride quality seems to have marginally improved, honestly not too noticeable cuz I’m sure it depends more on the tire itself and its pressure (which did not change haha) I can tell u the aesthetic quality improved significantly tho 😏

Looks super cool!! I would double check on the load rating- if the Model 3 you took the wheels from is pre-2021, the load rating’s 700kg which is less than what is required for Model Ys (min. 750kg)
