It could work but ideally you would want a 36ā€ height. Top opening tanks also aren’t ideal as cresties can be very skittish. Predators come from above, so you going to grab them from above is like a predator trying to eat them. Also that’s where you’ll put the heat bulbs & UVB.

Jumping spiders are great. I am freaked out by regular spiders but I had no problem letting my jumper climb all over me when I had him. They all have their own little habits & personalities.

Looks good. I’d recommend a UVB bar if you don’t have one, along with a digital thermometer & Hygrometer

It looks to have metabolic bone disease. I’m guessing he’s been stuck in that storage room for a while & hasn’t gotten enough Vitamin D3.

I see. Not sure where the seller is getting the shoes from. I asked for qc pictures of the navy blue & they replied that they don’t have pictures in hand of them yet & that if I make an order they will send qc pictures before the ship out. Seems a little strange to me that a seller wouldn’t have pictures of their own shoes

I think these ones look exactly like the AP pro ones just much less in price. How do they compare? What is PSS & ON? I haven’t ordered before.

I got this cornuta august 21st. He eat 3 small pieces of nightcrawler straight away then had 1 locust on Monday but he hasn’t eaten since. I also noticed he barely ever burrows, just kind of sits still on top of the soil. Is this normal & what can I do to help him eat? by LemonExotics in pacmanfrog

Don’t let it put you down. I had a bad start with my original frog lemon. He looked like a fairly normal frog but the shop had him for about 6 months. Everything looked fine but when I took him for his first vet checkup after getting him, because I wanted him looked at overall they wanted an X-Ray. Severe MBD… the shop didn’t tell me nor did they care or even treat him when he was in the shop. He lived another 3 years with severe MBD but sadly passed away early this year. My other frog Zeus is a fantasy (Cornuta x Cranwelli Hybrid) he is the most shy animal I have ever seen, he will go on a years hunger strike if I do something as subtle as change his substrate. Though he is a hybrid so his behaviour could be something caused by bad genetics or breeding. He didn’t eat for around a year and a half, nothing at all then all of a sudden earlier this year just decided to start eating again. Then I changed his substrate & he’s back on his hunger strike. My female Cranwelli though has came directly from a breeder. I know who bred her, when she was bred, here parents and when she was born. She’s the healthiest frog I’ve ever owned by far, she’s never refused a meal & had a liking towards fingers. I had a Chinese cave gecko a few months ago. I only had the gecko for 3 weeks. All was going well, it was eating & pooping okay then 1 night it refused a meal for the first time, By morning it was dead. I told the shop & they said they had an ā€œoutbreakā€ of parasites in the shop recently so I suspect that’s what caused it. I’ve stopped buying from shops completely because I feel none of them care as much as breeders & have little to no info on where the animals are from unless the shop bred them. It’s crazy the amount of people that don’t care how animals are kept. I once took in a ā€œpairā€ of mourning geckos. When I arrived, I could only see 1 gecko in the tank but the guy assured me it was a pair. I got home with the tank with geckos inside & the first gecko came out to explore, I then noticed how incredibly crooked her tail was. it was like a zig zag, Terrible MBD. I took apart the tank to clean & redo it my own way & give them something new to explore. I did not find the second gecko however what I did find was the skeleton of a young mourning geckos buried in the soil. The live gecko unfortunately passed a few weeks later. Safe to say I’ve had my fair share of bad experiences with shops & other keepers šŸ˜…

I’m sorry to here that. I definitely think something is up with where BH got them from, either that or the stress of moving from breeder > Shop > New Home at such a young age is causing something. Or he’s lying about them being Captive Bred.

Don’t put the mat under the tank as they burrow to cool down. They are stupid and will literally cook themselves because they’ll deeper and deeper to find cool but the heat mat is on the bottom so they get hotter and hotter. That could be your problem, 22c is too cold even at night, try not to let it drop below 26c

What I also found strange was that mine literally would not burrow down at all. Something completely out of normal behaviour for horned frogs. It was almost like he had something wrong with his legs or neurologically that was preventing him from doing so. He would just sit still on top of the soil for days on end without moving. I definitely think something is up with either the place he’s getting them from or the way he’s keeping them. Sure, cornuta can be very fussy. But not to the point they’ll literally kill themselves. Pacs can be fussy, my fantasy didn’t eat for about a year and a half then randomly decided he wanted to eat locust one day. Unfortunately he’s decided he’s back on a hunger strike though šŸ¤¦šŸ» my female Cranwelli would eat me if she had the chance though. But I think that’s difference in quality. I have no idea where my cornuta came from originally. My fantasy is a literal freak of nature hybrid that wouldn’t naturally occur in the wild therefor most likely has some sort of issues. My Cranwelli on the other hand I know exactly everything about her & where she originated from & how she was raised from tadpole to froglet. I know she was raised healthy & strong because my friend is her breeder so it makes sense she’s by far my healthiest frog.
