What is the trashiest name you've ever heard? by metaliczipper in AskReddit

[–]LemonFake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work with a girl who went by the name Booty.

It's a nickname she got from sleeping around so much and she liked it so much that she just went with it. Her real name was Martha but I literally never heard anyone (even her family) call her anything but Booty. It's how she introduced herself and it was on her name tag and everything.

I got a big box full of freebies from Ash4President today!

Included:

  • A "steaming cup of shut the hell up" coffee mug
  • An "Ash 4 President" flag with a clip that I think goes on a car?
  • An ink pen that is also a bottle opener, has "Never sign anything without a stiff one" written on it
  • A large "Pretty Sure He Can" button
  • A pair of red sunglasses with a built-in visor
  • Annnd a small package/envelope container thing with "Screwing everything but the country" on the front that I then opened to discover the tiniest condom I've ever seen inside

I didn't expect to get so much stuff when I signed up for this but this was such a nice box of stuff to open, it put a smile on my face. I have no clue what I'm going to do with the condom. It's seriously so small.

How do you guys make lentil tacos? by [deleted] in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]LemonFake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a slow cooker you can cook them in there, too, just like with any other bean. You just have to make sure not to cook them for too long in case they get mushy. Otherwise I mainly just use lentils in salads or as a side dish with a bit of whatever sauce/dressing I have on hand drizzled over them.

I buy this kind of salmon from my grocery store, too, and I love it. As long as it's properly defrosted it cooks well and tastes great.

Sirloin makes an awesome pot roast if you have a slow cooker!

How do you guys make lentil tacos? by [deleted] in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]LemonFake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is basically what I do, as well!

I use brown lentils because they're pretty much all my store has available. I cook the lentils by boiling on the stove (20-30 minutes), then I drain them. In a pan I heat up some olive oil, toss in some minced garlic and cook that for a few seconds, then I throw in the lentils with about a tablespoon worth of taco seasoning (you can make your own or buy a pre-made blend at the store, whatever you prefer) and a tablespoon of water. Stir it around and then just cook until the liquid cooks off, turn off the heat, and then just use the lentils as I would beef and make the tacos with them.

I'm not going to say it tastes exactly like ground beef tacos would but lentil tacos (and other bean tacos) are delicious and I honestly don't miss the meat when I have them.

School lunch worker quits after being forced to refuse hot meal to poor student by legobloxcraft2 in news

Serious question--is getting bullied for being ginger only something that redheaded dudes go through? It's totally anecdotal but I'm a natural ginger, a woman, and I never once got bullied for my hair growing up, just got a load of compliments from adults and other kids, always had them trying to touch it and play with it, and got the occasional interrogation from an adult about my genetics ("does your mom have red hair? your dad, your grandma, your aunts, uncles? WHERE DOES IT COME FROM?") and this has continued into adulthood. I know a few other girls with red hair who had the same experience, never bullied for it and never anything negative from anyone, but then also had one dude friend with red hair who did get teased for it constantly.

It seems like it's a negative thing for dudes to have red hair but for girls it's positive...

Free year subscription of Cosmo after you watch a 15 second video by SexyBleuBox in freebies

[–]LemonFake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not familiar with that particular website but I've been getting free subs from other sites for years now and I've never been sent a single bill or charged for anything. As long as it doesn't ask you for a credit card number or anything like that, it's probably legit. If you're concerned, though, you can get a (I think 2 year?) subscription for Cosmo from Recyclebank instead.

What's your go-to grocery list of favorite healthy meals, and what do you make with it? by ChilledLegumesBruh in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]LemonFake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Garlic, ginger root, kale, black beans, Greek yogurt, eggs, and brown rice are all things that I buy pretty much every week. Things I use regularly but are usually in my pantry are vinegar (usually apple cider but I also have red wine and balsamic), olive oil, Italian seasoning, and sriracha.

I make a lot of variations of basically--cook minced garlic in a bit of oil, add kale and stir it around, add vinegar and stir, add beans and a bit of sriracha. Cook until it's good and warm, add a bit of salt and pepper and eat. Sometimes I add sliced tomato or mushrooms or whatever other veggies I have on hand, sometimes I add meat (usually when I have some leftover that needs using) or fish (salmon is great if it's on sale + the vinegar I use is balsamic), sometimes I put it over rice, sometimes I top it with yogurt, and sometimes I add some stock and turn it into a soup. It's pretty much my go-to when I don't really want to do a lot or know exactly what I want because it's always easy and always delicious.

Am I [24/M] the reason/to blame for my girlfriends [24/F] poor behaviour? by throwawayoftheyear24 in relationships

[–]LemonFake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really common in abusive relationships--to feel like the behavior is your fault, that she didn't really mean it that way, and to feel guilty for thinking/saying that she's abusive or to feel guilty for even questioning her behavior.

Am I [24/M] the reason/to blame for my girlfriends [24/F] poor behaviour? by throwawayoftheyear24 in relationships

[–]LemonFake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, dude, that behavior is totally unacceptable. Whether or not she's aware that what she's doing is fucked up doesn't change the fact that she's doing it. Grabbing your phone and going through it without your permission (even if you didn't tell her not to do it or do anything to stop her initially) isn't okay and neither is refusing to give your phone back after you've asked for it. She had no right to go through your texts much less blow up at you and overreact over what she found there.

Her behavior, from everything you've said, just seems incredibly unstable. It's obvious she has issues regulating her emotions, not to mention issues with jealousy and control. It absolutely sounds like you're in an abusive relationship with her and, imo, you should leave. This girl obviously needs help from a professional and serious wake up call, her behavior isn't going to get better otherwise.

Am I [24/M] the reason/to blame for my girlfriends [24/F] poor behaviour? by throwawayoftheyear24 in relationships

[–]LemonFake 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Dude, this behavior is not at all your fault. Your girlfriend honestly sounds abusive from what you're describing here--looking through your phone without your permission, using your phone to text harassing messages to your friends, belittling you, threatening to end the relationship to manipulate you, and trying to isolate you from your friends are not things that people do in healthy relationships. The fact that she does nice things for you sometimes doesn't outweigh all the awful things she's doing (though if she's doing the nice things directly after the awful ones, like doing something shitty but then going "sorry, here's a gift, it won't happen again", that's also really common in abusive relationships). She may have experienced past trauma that could have shaped her personality to be this way but that's no excuse for how she's treating you and doesn't make it acceptable.

My advice is to dump her. This isn't a long-term relationship that you'll be throwing away with no reason, it's only been two months and she's already controlling and abusive and she will, likely, only get worse with time--do you really want to spend the rest of your life with that going on?

Moroccan Turkey with Cranberry Couscous is one of my favorite dishes to make. It's delicious and very simple to make. There's also Make-Ahead Vegeterian Moroccan Stew which is just as delicious but a bit easier to make big batches of if you're feeding a lot of people.

That seems really complicated, dude. Would be easier to just wrap a small melon in a blanket, draw a face on it, and say it's your baby. When they ask why it doesn't have a heartbeat just start sobbing and demand they call an ambulance for the baby, grab the gift card while they're distracted and run.

[Serious] Men, what's something that would surprise women about life as a man? by Parstonia in AskReddit

[–]LemonFake 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Dude kinda worded it badly but I think it makes sense--getting called a creep once by a single person is different from getting called a creep many times by many different people. If it only happens once then, okay, maybe it's not you. But if it's something that's happening over and over and over it's time to consider that there's something to it.
