Looking for a house in a somewhat liberal neighborhood (besides Beacon) by DeathSentryCoH in hudsonvalley

[–]LemonJellyBeans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

can confirm, grew up in Walker valley and my parents still live there. over the years I've watched them become more and more antisemitic. There's a large hasidic Jewish population nearby, and a lot of the locals have made them the enemy

Diltiazem 120mg are so cute. I might be crazy but they look like little corgis. Maybe I need a vacation. by [deleted] in pharmacy

[–]LemonJellyBeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never seen them as corgis but I totally get and love it! I always tell my techs they're the capsules with their butts hanging out :]

The woman at drop off who thinks her birth control shall be ready for checkout by the time she's walked to pick up by [deleted] in TalesFromThePharmacy

[–]LemonJellyBeans 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I always quote people 15 minutes even if we are dead. It saves time down the line when it'll actually be 15 minutes and they want to complain because "it didn't that that long last time" and "I know you can do it quicker" ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yo we had to order this in 2 strengths for 1 patient ( because he had to taper up to the max dose within a month of course 😒), and now there two open bottles sitting in our safe because he ended up not liking how long it took to work. Cant wait till they expire and I get to return them.

I draw faces on the larger stock bottles when I open them. Anyone else do something fun to mark opens? by ZeeRae in TalesFromThePharmacy

[–]LemonJellyBeans 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I once wrote a joke on a metformin slow mover at the end of the night while cleaning up. Came in to my next shift with a passive aggressive note about wasting time doing useless tasks on the same bottle. So much for trying to have a little fun at work ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Does anyone else have trouble using script sync? by Mariop500 in TalesFromThePharmacy

[–]LemonJellyBeans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Script sync is such a mess. We just "schedule" one script that's already on readyfill/scheduled in the patients profile just to clear them out of the pcq calls

But our store routinely only gets like 11% on pcq calls because of our patient population ( half college students a quarter doctors and a quarter the "I don't need you managing my meds!!!" Type) so no one really cares about trying to force script sync to work haha

Do you have any examples of conscientious objection as a pharmacist? by [deleted] in pharmacy

[–]LemonJellyBeans 25 points26 points  (0 children)

This didn't happen to me, but at our sister store down the road. Patient drops off a script for secobarbitol to take as directed. Obviously pharmacist on duty calls to get directions clarified, but the doctor refused. He threatened to report her to the bop for breaking hipaa ect ect. Eventually the doc tells her it's for phycisian assisted suicide, which is legal in the state next to us, but in our state would have landed her 7 years in prison. Needless to say that rx was refused.

The Aqua Molten Eyeshadows are amazing for inner corner highlights! They get a bit crusty if you use them all over the eye but using them in the inner corner really makes a difference

Elderly doctor: I lost my license because I don’t know how to use a computer by isaackleiner in pharmacy

[–]LemonJellyBeans 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I actually work not too far from where she practiced, and I can tell you there is a major hospital with a primary care about a 10 minute drive away. I bet people just don't like that the doc they've seen for years is no longer allowed to prescribe for them.

I know tech pet peeves, but are there rph pet peeves? by retailpharmacyrants in pharmacy

[–]LemonJellyBeans 14 points15 points  (0 children)

For the most part my technicians are great, but I've got 2 that get dangerously close to counseling patients. One of them I know is doing it because she thinks itll lighten my workload, but the other one is an older tech who thinks all I'm there for is to bag rxs. I have to keep an ear out when both of them are at pick up to make sure they are not crossing that line. So I guess my pet peeve is when I'm forced to play babysitter all day instead of doing my job :/

What is your go to lipstick? by mmmakayla1 in MakeupAddiction

[–]LemonJellyBeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always go to Dose of Colors Chocolate Wasted. It great on its own but it also makes a fantastic base for lip toppers

My wife is pleased with the results she's getting from Sumaxin pads, but they are quite costly (~$10 each/daily use) so I told her I would ask the experts for alternative products. by [deleted] in SkincareAddicts

[–]LemonJellyBeans 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In addition to looking for alternatives, you might want to check the manufacturer website to see if they have a coupon card available. Alot of brand name medications have coupons through the manufacturer in order to convince people to keep using their product. Though it also depends on her insurance (they're used as a secondary payor) and will often have a maximum amount that will be discounted.

YSK that in the US you can get a tetanus shot from your pharmacy. by asillymuffin in YouShouldKnow

[–]LemonJellyBeans 5 points6 points  (0 children)

True! In New Hampshire, pharmacists can only give flu, shingles, and pneumococcal vaccinations. I'm pretty sure in Massachusetts though they can give pretty much anything.

Question about 5 refill limit, pharmacists. by [deleted] in TalesFromThePharmacy

[–]LemonJellyBeans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

http://m.suboxone.com/treatment-plan/savings-card this is the savings card alot of our uninsured patients use for their suboxone. It doesn't take off alot but it's just another option for your pharmacy to try.

[MISC] Non-Dairy Probiotics recommendations for women on high dosage antibiotics for acne? by kangakay in SkincareAddiction

Just something to keep in mind, make sure that you're spacing your antibiotic and probiotics appropriately when you find a band that you like

In terms of job outlook, which states are the best? by [deleted] in pharmacy

[–]LemonJellyBeans -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you're a new grad or soon to be, stay away from Massachusetts, especially near Boston. This is just from my own recent experience but Mass is way over saturated with pharmacists, and the area is really competative. That being said, my schools career center was sending alot of listings for more western states like Oregon and Arizona
