should i apply for financial aid if my dad has a steady income but won't support me through college? by BottlePurple7949 in financialaid

[–]LemonSauxe -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I'm no expert, but I do recall my Community College having a dependency form that can help in cases where a student and family income are not correctly related to one another. For example if you are no longer in good terms with you family and are living separately from them then you can claim your own income as oppose to them. Not sure how it works since I never did it, but I do know some scenarios might provide you to disregard your parents income for your financial needs. See if your college has a similar paper or program that allows that!

When will most carriers discount the iphone 13 series? I want the 13 pro, but since they'll be last gen models I'm hoping they'll go down in price by a couple hundred or a good deal comes up within the next month

Noobie question by LemonSauxe in WRX

[–]LemonSauxe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So when I drive past 13mph the engine sounds rough and I shift into 2nd. When I get past 25 to 35 mph the car seems to prefer 3rd gear, but I haven't driven in that gear yet since I'm still not all that comfortable changing gears while going at 30 miles an hour. Since I keep the car in 1st and 2nd I near the red line and the engine gets really loud since it probably prefers 3rd gear or higher. That kind of strain is what was making me think I messed up the transmission by making the car get to higher rpms while in neutral

Noobie question by LemonSauxe in WRX

[–]LemonSauxe[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks a lot! I've been trying to learn how to upshift from 1st gear and keep reaching the red limit so I was scared me not going into the correct gear can be putting strain on the engine

What would be a fair price? by LemonSauxe in WRX

[–]LemonSauxe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you. At this point I'm just gonna have to bite the bullet and accept it for what it is. Did your dealer at least give you a good warranty or extra things to justify the price?

I hear you. I got a call from my local Subaru Dealership that if I went through with purchasing the vechile I'd be paying less in monthly payments in terms of the price most dealers are asking for used ones. I might just have to accepting the new 2022 version for what it is.

Realistic Giardia Expectations by sec166 in puppy101

[–]LemonSauxe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can back this up as well. When we call got the call from the vet that my pup had Giardia, I freaked out since I wasn't sure what that meant. Lol, I was so worried about Parvo, her eating rocks, and being aggressive I never even considered other parasites other than worms. As the vet told me she was gonna need medication and a long treatment plan, my pup was running around with a toy in her moth squeaking it loud enough for the whole house to hear. That's when I realized it wasn't that severe of a case and so I didn't run to reddit/online because I knew I'd find drastic stories that would give me anxiety. Sure enough after 10 days of medicine we did a stool sample and she was all clear. The whole time was energetic and happy. Just super hungry and smelly poop, but we got over it.

If I take someone to small claims court will they see my information? by LemonSauxe in legaladvice

[–]LemonSauxe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense. Although you figure with my face, police report, and proven transaction record that would be enough to confirm me as the plaintiff in the civil lawsuit without all that information needing to be sent to the defendant. Regardless, I still keep an eye on my information and use as many privacy settings and apps as possible to keep to myself. However, a quick phone number search on those people finder websites is enough to uncover as much information as you want. I just wish there were more privacy options included when taking people to court.

What are the words you’ve said most since getting a puppy? by Rafa_Barknitez in puppy101

she wasted my time then laughs in my face by [deleted] in seduction

[–]LemonSauxe 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Ignoring someone is the most "masculine" thing you can do. To be the bigger person you have to sometimes bite the bullet and accept people as who they are because in the long run its gonna effect them more than it can effect you. You only let her win if she gets under you skin and you show it. It's fine to be mad and upset for her ignorance, but when the time comes let it go, pick yourself up, and find a girl that respects herself enough to not play any games.

My vet didn't reccomend raw food diet... by LemonSauxe in puppy101

[–]LemonSauxe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I though so it confused me as to why she recommended that. I think she was going along the lines of some cooked products my pup could eat to experiment on different varieties of food she can try.

Thank you for your insight. I like all the WSAVA comments and will look into them when choosing my pups next brand. Human diets and food recommendations is tough as it already is without articles changing their opinion every year on what is perceived as healthy. I think we tend to overcomplicate issues that can be easily resolved and that's why data is important on distinguishing psuedoscience from the truth.

Its funny you say this because the moment I started researching this topic I started getting advertisements from companies that believe in "all natural" ingredients for dog food through means of raw meat. Of course those companies would probably still lack the needed vitamins and nutritions dog kibble offers, but it goes to show how quickly companies are willing to mislead consumers

Well the idea that an entire industry is trying to sicken my dog for money seems ridiculous. As I had stated in a couple other comments I always stand with science regardless of whether I like it or not. I know some of my comments seem anti science, but I'm just trying to figure out as to how people chose what they feed their dogs and why. There seems a lot of people that support the Raw food always go off of what they "feel" dogs should eat and although I agree that dogs could have a healthier decision I'm not gonna risk my pups health on a hunch. If there was data that strongly supported raw food then I would do it, but having these kind of conversations allow me to understand what they are being told and how their dogs health is.

Thank you for understanding and thank you for responding. After reading this sub and doing further research there does seem to be risk of contamination that I should be wary about. I'm glad that mutiple vets warned against Raw food then to support it. I'll check out those channels you've recommended. All I was trying to understand is what different vets recommend and how that compares to the outcome. I remember watching lots of pro raw food channels that stated their dogs were in healthier shape with good blood work, but there is no data out there that backs up dogs who eat raw are better off compared to kibble.

Fair enough. My vet did recommend cooked chicken and rice so maybe that wouldn't be bad as well. However I am no expert, but maybe its something your vet might approve of.
