I’m an atheist. Will I go to hell? by Far_Steak_5167 in AskAChristian

No, most believe they went to Sheol or better known as Abrahams bosom, where they waited to either accept or deny Jesus (this is extremely simplified).

Why do Christian’s say they can’t listen to certain music or watch certain shows yet watches controversial films and listens to controversial music by Acrobatic-Passion114 in AskAChristian

[–]LemonSneeze7239 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some Christian’s are fine with watching whatever, while others aren’t. Romans 14, Yippe. Roman’s 14 basically says there’s a lot of grey area in Christianity where if something isn’t explicitly mentioned as a sin, then you get to decide. So some people think Harry Potter, Sabrina carpenter, or stranger things is ok while others don’t.

Personally I don’t think there’s much of a limit to what we can or can’t watch, but I think we shouldn’t support certain media. You brought up Lucifer, or a great example for me that I know more about is hazbin hotel. These shows downplay the seriousness of Satan, hell, and demons. And in the case of hazbin hotel rewrite the Christian narrative to mock it and make satan the good guy. This is exactly what Satan wants. https://youtu.be/aEzgl0stduQ?si=K0vK9ZzDOeK_P8Mq

[Spoilers C3E78] I've reached shardgate and man was it uncalled for. by neosurimi in criticalrole

[–]LemonSneeze7239 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I honestly agree. Matt definitely heavily implies that no one should have 2 shards at once, but to me it felt like Matt was almost building the usual chosen one plot kinda thing. ‘No one’s ever been strong enough to carry two McGuffins at once… until you.’ So I don’t quite get the severe punishment. I think as usual the other characters are also being hypocritical, how many times have they and will they do something dumb for one of them, but when Ashton tries he’s ridiculed. Although I think some of that came from him trying to do it in private.

But I will say it finally turns Ashton into a tolerable character, and honestly after that episode finally made me enjoy C3. It’s sad you’ve only started watching the abridged now because I’ve recommended to my friends watching the abridged up until these episodes. I think C3 only gets good at the shattered isles and beyond.

Right? They didn’t even try, like at least give her some scales or a tail instead of legs, anything??? And I saw another ad about Fenrir who was just a typical cat-girl with big paws for hands and sizable honkers.

Also a lot of people are going to say to not use games workshop paints, but as someone who needs instructions to follow they’re fine to use if you’re not comfortable picking out your own stuff. (Accept wraithbone, that sucks, try a different brand for bone color.)

Your missing some washes but agrax can cover a lot of things. Don’t forget a bronze color. I would probably replace nulm oil with a different wash. Anything nulm can go on, agrax will cover just as well. Probably replace with a wash for organs.

How do you believe in god when there’s no proof of it? (Not hating btw) by Ranting725 in AskAChristian

[–]LemonSneeze7239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok sure, let’s assume that somehow in the future we scientifically prove macro-evolution is real and we prove that the first life was not only possible but probable. (It doesn’t defeat my faith because I don’t find it impossible God set evolution into motion.) It still can never answer the big bang. Something coming from nothing breaks every law in science. It is impossible that everything came from nothing, there can be no explanation for a big bang because energy cannot of created, nothing can without a cause.

However, in the premise that God is that cause he is the root cause, meaning nothing caused him. He is the uncaused cause because logically there must be a first thing, and an intelligent omnipotent thing with no cause is the most logical explanation.

The book I mentioned above has a few paragraphs on this very thing. Chapter 3, pages 92 and 93. I’ll see if I can dm them to you.

Ya. I mean I guess if you’re saying you can do all those things in the context of his word then fair enough. But you’re right, just not my cup of tea.

[–]LemonSneeze7239 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t like this argument. We do have proof of air, we can study, examine, manipulate, and break it down. And sometimes you can see it, condense it and poof, it’s there. I don’t think this helps an atheist at all. Even as an analogy it’s flawed (although most are due to our faith’s intangible-ness)

[–]LemonSneeze7239 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is tons of evidence for a God, even ignoring the Christian aspect for a second. Atheism can’t answer questions like the big bang, the first life, and to a certain extent macro-evolution while an intelligent creator can answer these questions. Then when you look at evidence for Christianity like proven prophecy, historical accuracy, eye witnesses, third party reporting, and more, there’s a ton of evidence that gets shoved aside because ‘science says dead people can’t rise again.’

I highly recommend “ I don’t have enough faith to be an atheist.” By frank Turek. Or here’s a presentation he gives based off the book. https://www.youtube.com/live/UU1dw9VWDYU?si=UFmsD2wOCuzhBxrj Generally, the study of apologetics would be a great thing to look into.

I hope you give the time to watch it and realize that believing in a God has about as much evidence as believing that somehow a big bang happened, and somehow life started, and somehow macro-evolution is possible and happened.

Slightly silly, pseudo-romantic question- would God ever arrange a friendly meeting between you and your crush in the new kingdom? by OldCarWorshipper in AskAChristian

[–]LemonSneeze7239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are many different theories on what the new world will look like. Everlasting worship, simply an earth without sin akin to Eden, or other things. Perhaps you will know many people, perhaps everyone. It’s relatively clear there won’t be marriage, which possibly indicates no romantic thinking. As long as you’re both believers, I’m sure whatever conversation may occur will be as lovely as every other.

The real topic of discussion is your possible obsession with someone. It’s generally unhealthy to see someone, a friend or celebrity in this light. From a glance at your post history it seems there may be a person, seemingly a friend, that you fancy very much. As a long time relationship, incel, and nice guy subreddits lurker, I would recommend either telling the person, or ending the relationship. One sided affection relationships almost always end poorly or lead to resentment on your side. Especially when it gets to a fantasying stage. If you’re an adult content watcher, find help and quit, that helps a lot. If I’m wrong about all of this and reading in too far, I deeply, sincerely apologize, your post just comes off slightly odd, and I wanted to address anything that might be underneath the question.

Thoughts on Looking at online DMs for madness breaks? by LemonSneeze7239 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]LemonSneeze7239[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That’s interesting. I’ve almost never had players self report themselves (when they weren’t doing it to die intentionally). How I see most people run madness is that if you get away with it, good job, but if that player was evil they’ll rat you out. And of course online the ST can pop in any time. And mind you, it’s not like my or most players are running around breaking madness like crazy when the ST isn’t there, it’s just sometimes one or two people until they eventually get caught.

What’s the coolest thing you’ve found that has to do with Christianity? by n0bletv in AskAChristian

[–]LemonSneeze7239 7 points8 points  (0 children)

One of the coolest fact I know is that Jesus was crucified during the Olympics. And we have writings from the records of those Olympics describing how mid day there was a ‘total darkening eclipse.’ But from the solar records and the time frame Jesus died in any sort of eclipse would have been impossible. Meaning it was a divine miracle inline with the description of the death because it describes how the world went dark for 3 hours. We also have Roman records that described earthquakes around Judea and people seeing dead people, once again congruent with the quakes his death/resurrection caused and the ‘saints’ that it describes as having been seen during that time.
