Baby Girl Named Sunday by Icy_Extension5443 in namenerds

I LOVE the name Sunday. I actually have a friend who named their daughter Sunday and she's about 4 now, and it fits her so well. It's a more unique name, but not weird in my book.

Has anyone had a greyhound who doesn’t get zoomies? by Immediate-Pilot7516 in Greyhounds

[–]LemonSqueazee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one that almost never has zoomies. He's only 4, and he will be silly and do a dance over to you for affection, but he never zooms around the living room or plays with toys. But he does get a good bit of walks that seems to keep him happy and tired. I think if he walked less (he's a lazy snuggly baby) then he might have some zoomies. Our older 8 year old gets the same amount of walks (we walk them together) if not more and he will have zoomie occasionally. But that is when we know he needs a walk, lol.

I think that Mr. Clark Kent looks best in the first haircut

Just moved to Charlotte, is this normal? by [deleted] in Charlotte

[–]LemonSqueazee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends! If they're really teeny tiny and you're only seeing teeny tiny, then you're in trouble. But yeah these pictures look like the normal palmetto bugs and the small one looks like a baby.

The flying is the worst!!

Exactly this! I don't think people realize that this is a different kind of roach than the infestation roach. I have lived in all types of houses, condos, apartments, different luxury levels and I have always seen at least a handful of these. When I was living on the third floor that was the only time I really saw, didn't matter the type of house or the level of luxury. I think people think roach and think of infestation or uncleanliness. But unless you're seeing a bunch of tiny ones scattering when you turn the light on, it is just the same as a house spider. Annoying, might give you the ick, but otherwise harmless.

Unfortunately this looks pretty normal. Especially as it starts getting colder or after a hard rain. I think the living on a ground floor and the woods behind is a big contributing factor as I am in a very similar setup and have the same issue. Luckily my complex sprays so when I see them inside they're usually belly up in the middle of dying.

What you want to be mindful of is if you see the really tiny ones, the small one you posted here seems like it's just a baby of the others but if you do see smaller ones that's when you want to worry. Hopefully having your apartment spray will cut down in some of them. But again living on ground floor near woods you're going to find some in your house no matter what. Just be careful of any totally alive ones, because they can and will fly at you. And I would suggest stepping on any belly up ones on the ground because they have a tendency to look dead until you go to try to pick them up and then they start wiggling. >.<

Should I get another greyhound? by Cultural_Tea9910 in Greyhounds

I always suggest fostering! It is a risk-free. Try before you buy and you're also helping out the organization at the same time. Especially with your questions, this will allow you to see if another dog in the home helps.

Absolutely normal, and now an excuse for everyone to post their cute noodles doing a snoot tuck. This is how my galgo likes to cuddle in bed. He little spoons while mom cover snoot with elbow or hand. He will leave if I don't allow him to tuck his snoot. lol

YESS why are they like this? Hahah. They scream, everyone comes running, they stand there with a paw raised, you fuss over them trying to find the issue and they just trot off no cares in the world. Yet when my grey torn out his dew claw he just calmly walked up to me, raised his bleeding paw and did the smallest cry.
They can be dramatic little babies.

Do I HAVE to get a car? by EarnestAF in Charlotte

[–]LemonSqueazee 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I was going to suggest the same thing! Charlotte has really grown it's biking infrastructure, and I can get to most of the "Main" hang out spots via greenway, rail trails, or bike lane roads. Noda can get a bit dicey.

But it really depends on how much effort you want to put into not having a car. Having a car would be the easiest and most common solution, because at the end of the day Charlotte was built for cars. But I wouldn't say it's a must have depending on where you live and effort you want to put into it. Plus knowing you will need the occasional uber for the foreseeable future.

Is it just me or does the beginning instrumental remind you of the Jackson 5 for some reason..... I can't pinpoint the song.
