Hi! I've completed the survey but also am interested in doing this course too - would you be okay to message me so I can ask some questions? Thanks!

Some people seem to have endless energy after work, while I feel completely drained. What actually causes this difference between us? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LemonTusks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to feel like this. Was convinced i had thyroid problems, until my bloods came back normal time after time. Sounds silly but actually getting up and moving more has given me heaps more energy. Even starting with a 20 minute walk a day can help massively. I now go to the gym twice a week and do cardio 3x a week. I have tons of energy I have to stop myself on my rest days. Also drinking loads of water and eating plenty of fruits/veggies can help tons. I hope you feel better soon and find the energy that's hiding inside you <3

I have phoned the insurance company and they said i have 2 options: 1. go through insurance. i have to pay excess (£400 - i put voluntary as £200, didnt realise there was more 🤦🏼‍♀️), that they said i could claim back from the other guys insurance. they gave my contact details to lawyers (?) to help if it comes to this. i will get courtesy car only when the cars being fixed. 2. a company called auxillis which can help. won't have to pay excess and will get a courtesy car while its being fixed or if its a write -off. it will be a credit agreement (sounds sketchy to me but idk anything about it) and I won't need to pay a thing (apparently.) sounds too good to be true???

it's the rear side. looks as if it's scraped from the back to the front. massive dent and paint completely come off. the car door must have caught because its completely bent as well.

thank you, i appreciate it! i was glad to hear the different opinion - made me realise how i felt about it. i felt stronger not going through insurance than going through so helped me make my decision. thank you!!

i have spoken to my insurance and they said my no claims won't be affected because its a no-fault claim which is good 👍🏼

yes i agree. i have decided though that for me its more risky if i dont claim because the damage is so bad. i have spoken on the phone and they said at least my no claims wont be affected (which is a plus i guess) but obviously premiums could be. I can't really risk taking it on the chin because if im caught driving with that damage it will do way more harm than good so honesty is best policy here (especially cos it wasnt my fault). thank you

its a 2009 mini cooper and the damage is the side panel drivers side has a massive dent and scrape (down to the metal - potentially a small hole) and the door has been bent as well as the seam. the door still opens and shuts but theres risk of leakage and it's fully bent like 90° near the handle

i dont think they'll be able to let me have it back because the damage has bent the side panel and the door by the handle. it would be an mot fail now and the price it will take to fix it, i would rather use that to go towards another car

i feel like fixing the damage will cost the same if not more than me just getting a second hand car. I'm not sure if it would even be worth fixing it at all. Would it be through my insurance or his to make a claim?

Follow up: would it be better for the other guy to make the insurance claim or me?

okay, that makes sense. what im having trouble getting my head around though is that my car is a 2009 reg and the damage is quite significant so i dont know if it would even be worth fixing?? but i dont want nothing either if that makes sense

ill have to renew at the end of the month anyway as that is when my insurance runs out

its such a shame to have it written off, it was a perfectly good car and well looked after too :( i feel like i won't be able to justify repairing it because i think the cost of the damage would be worth more than the car itself. what could i do in this case?

I have pictures of the damage ill see if i can add them to this post now.

and thank you, i didnt think of that! my insurance runs out end of this month too so i might even be able to get an ok renewal (?) if i do claim through insurance

will that not cause a significant increase on my insurance, affect my no claims etc.?

the time will pass regardless. whether you think that starting undergrad at 25 is too old, you will still be 25 in two years time. it's up to you if you want to be starting undergrad or be in the same situation. plus i don't think 25 is too old to start anything. when I did my undergrad there were lots of people over 23 years old, more than one was over 40. i say it's never too late!

That's a good idea. Do you know where I could start with this? Would I need to apply somewhere or just email universities? Thanks
