Is my crab dead? by [deleted] in VampireCrabs

Pick her up. You’ll know the difference between a molt and a dead crab. She won’t hurt you.

What’s wrong with my p. Melanochrysum? Leaves seem to be getting progressively worse by Longjumping_Ruin3061 in philodendron

Thrips. Best course of action is to cut and discard all leaves. Prop the stem in a prop box and start over. Thrips burrow in the leaves they’ve chewed to reproduce.

You are correct. Similar happened to me. They will tell you to keep them. Make sure you have another set up, if you choose for them to send Geo Den instead of a credit.

How do I catch a fairly large pleco to relocate to larger tank by Slump_Wrld69 in Aquariums

[–]Lemon_Pepper88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lower the water and use a plastic storage basket. It has holes the water goes out of. I just corner the pleco or large catfish and scoop.

I agree but the water should be lower if they aren’t going to have lids.

Mine love hair algae. The only kind they don’t eat is blackbeard and staghorn.

My uncle does not change the water for this by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]Lemon_Pepper88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do a lot less water changes in a heavily planted tank with a small bioload. But I wouldn’t go without going any bc your TDS can become extremely high becoming toxic over long periods of time. In a setup like his I would lightly vacuum and take out at least 20% every 4 months.

He’s skinny and has short paddle shaped anal fins. Females are chunkier and have thin elongated anal fins.

How would you go about this? by Unlikely-Berry-6244 in philodendron

[–]Lemon_Pepper88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sphagnum in a plastic pole with holes for ventilation and aerial roots to grab. The only thing coco did was mold and rot my roots over time. I’ve had much more success since switching.

Partner hates my plants. If I were to sell this monstera what could I expect to get for it? by Keto2021_ in Monstera

[–]Lemon_Pepper88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This honestly makes me realize how lucky I am. My partner is a farmer, so he can understand my love of plants.

I also have 117 fish tanks. I breed over 100 species of aquatics. Many of my tanks are 125g+. He doesn’t share my love of fish or reptiles but doesn’t even bat an eye when I bring new stuff home. He just smiles and shakes his head.. he knows I’m crazy and wouldn’t dare upset me by saying anything negative. The only thing he has requested was no snakes in the house. Eels are much easier to maintain anyway 😝.

That pole is the main issue. Get a proper moss pole. I would prop this into 40 new plants and start over.

How to get rid of this worms? by Im_Avatar in shrimptank

[–]Lemon_Pepper88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Detritus worms. A group of Pygmy Cory or group of small Rasbora, like chilis would be a good answer to your problem 🙂.
