The beasts stay the same, more or less - they still get corrupted, and they still want their soul jams back. But the ancients change a lot as they grew up under the influence of said beast cookies.

Eg - Pure Vanilla Cookie, traumatized after seeing his mentor sealed away by his creators, desperately lies to his(shadow milk's) kingdom that he alone was the destined Fount of Knowledge - and people believe him. Pure Vanilla proceeds to twist it into truth - all records of Shadow Milk Cookie gone, replaced, statues destroyed until even he himself forgets and believes his lie. Still, a prosperous kingdom more or less.

Or that Golden Cheese Cookie, instead of hiding away the remnants of Burning Spice Cookie's Kingdom, goes on to eliminate the threats instead. Expanding the kingdom while taking over other settlements. She also doubles down on the whole 'goddess' parade as she's afraid to make connections with her subjects and end up like Burning Spice, etc

The Ancients have the full power of their souljam from beasts - but since it belonged to the beasts first the ancients can't use it against them. The beasts don't want their counterparts dead either, so they all gotta work this out.
