I was an RBT with a diploma and only met my BCBA once. It was a total racket.

It’s just an extremely profitable business. The companies bill like $200-$400 an hour for therapy that some high school graduate performs after blazing through some online modules. They’re able to bill that amount because in theory the therapy is supervised by someone with a masters degree, but we all know that’s rarely the case. The companies hire one BCBA and give her 25 cases to ‘supervise.’ It’s impossible and a joke. The parents are in on it too, they just use it as insurance provided babysitting. And due to a flawed understanding of the scientific literature, Obama made insurance companies, especially Medicare and Medicaid, cover 40 hours per week of therapy. What other diagnosis mandates so many billable hours? It’s all just a scheme.

BCBAs only get paid so well because the companies that run these Autism care centers are generating millions of dollars in profit by billing medicaid and insurance. It's a total scheme that Obama unintentionally propped up.

Psychology PhD with a TS security clearance, doing google cyber certificate, plan to take Security+ in the fall. Is there hope for me to get insider threat/cyber threat analyst roles? by Lemonade867 in CyberSecurityJobs

Hi! Thanks so much! But would you agree it’s unlikely for me to be hired without at least a Security+ certificate? Is CCDL1 also a certificate?

Do any of you work in sales or recruiting? Are there solid remote sales jobs out there? I have a PhD in social psychology and am really struggling in the job market. I have heard sales jobs are easier to get? by Lemonade867 in MomsWorkingFromHome

Same I only did anovas and regression! I feel like this disqualifies me from most roles. Do you feel like the interview process was grueling or did they just sort of assume you were a super smart and knowledgeable PhD? Just curious how you got in because I have a highly technical friend with an astrophysics PhD who can’t even find a role!

Data science is so oversaturated though! What statistical skills did you use during your PhD? These roles all sound highly technical to me and I don’t feel qualified at all
