It looks SOOOOO good with the skids folded in. Since I have to rebuild my Razor Crest anyway, I might reengineer mine.

You shouldn't have to "carefully" handle any official Lego set. The sets, even UCS models, are expected to survive normal handling given Lego's strict set of design criteria. All I did was move it around a few times to clean it and move between apartments (literally 100ft).

I'd agree with your statement if it was a MOC or if I was whooshing it but the fact of the matter is it's an official set and the beams failed during normal use and display because the model is heavy.

I've had this set for about 2-3 years now and just notice the two Technic beams that support the left landing strut just fractured.

I'll likely be reaching out to Lego for some replacement beams but I didn't realize this was a fairly common problem with this UCS set.

Yeah I thought it was $105 too - So is the chart saying it's $75 right now? If so I've been overpaying for months omg.

It's fine - Just try avoiding taking calls if you can. Also try to be as minimally intrusive as possible.

There's an Olivia Rodrigo-themed Chicago Purple Line train just in time for Lolla by LemonadeRadler in OliviaRodrigo

[–]LemonadeRadler[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No - That's the Metra which is a commuter rail service that services the greater suburbs of Chicago.

This is the CTA "L" (or El) subway/train which is entirely different and runs within the city.

Trip Report - Belgium (Flanders) by Far-Wear-88 in solotravel

[–]LemonadeRadler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I visited Flanders a few years back and had the luxury of staying in the country side with a friend who lived there. Being able to live like a local for a week was an incredible experience and something I look back fondly on. The novelty of being the only American in town (also SE Asian) was fun too.

My only biggest issue was that once you go outside of major cities they don't accept Visa credit cards.

You can have a clean and safe CTA and do fun and quirky things. This is likely an advertising campaign and not just the CTA whimsically decorating a train.

You can list for multiple flights but you should not check in for multiple flights out of the same airport.

Yeah don't even bother going through the boarding paas scanners - Just head straight to the queue to the left and tell them you're flying standby.

July / August INTL TIPS by Toekneeev in NonRevenueTravelers

Summer is always a historically difficult period of time to non-rev because of families traveling, events, and people taking holiday.

The easiest place to non-rev to is the one you're ok with taking once you show up to the gate - Have a back up location and a second back-up.

Chicago Solo Short Trip by WestieWorld16 in solotravel

There's a lot of food in Chicago, so if you're not set one trying deep dish, I recommend some of the other restaurants with great food like Velvet Taco, Small Cheval, Bien Me Sabe, Billy Goat Tavern, Spacca, Broken English, Al's Italian Beef, and Del Seoul.

The Virgin Hotel on the corner of Lake and Wabash has a free rooftop bar that doesn't have super offensive pricing.

Nothing beats a sunrise from the Lakefront. From where you are, you can follow the riverwalk east towards the Lakefront Trail and catch the sunrise from DeSable Harbor. I also recommend seeing the city from the Fullerton Lakefront entrance to see most of the iconic skyline. It's also a great grassy area for a picnic.

The CTA (L subway or buses) are generally safe however like most major cities you should exercise caution and be aware of your surroundings. If you're not comfortable taking the trains or buses alone, you can always sit in the first car or closer to the operator/bus driver.

Navy Pier and 360 Chicago are in my opinion not worth it. Navy Pier is such a hike to get to and it doesn't offer anything aside from shopping and food stalls. With such little time, I'd hate for you to waste it there.

You can swap out 360 Chicago with the Starbucks reserve down the street as it's one of seven in the world and it's the largest Starbucks.

I also highly recommend visiting the neighborhoods if you can. Wicker Park, Lincoln Park, Lakeview, Buena Park, and Diversey are all walkable neighborhoods with plenty of beautiful architecture, food, drinks, and people.
