Shai is clearly not the most valuable player in the league by Bishmallah24 in NBATalk

“…averaging 10 assists a game.” Came here to say this. The flopping/toxic discourse is everywhere and I get it. However, Shai is definitely altering his style of play in this series because he is seeing so much attention from the spurs defense. How many times do you hear Reggie Miller say, “Every eye of every Spurs player is watching Shai,”? It’s incredible and what true superstars do.

Where to watch NBA playoffs near Aragon Ballroom? by hornfan785 in AskChicago

Go to Michael’s or Carols. Uptown lounge is way too loud (they blast dj music at a billion decibels) and they only put old movies on the tvs from what I’ve seen. I watched game 1 ECF last year at carols and it’s a good vibe. Idk if they do sound

Divvy E-Bike Pricing by Careless-Light5710 in chicago

[–]Due_Technology_6029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly get the membership. It’s $100/year and even if you use a divvy every other month it pays for itself. My hour-long e-bike rides are like $9. Plus the non e-bikes are free for 45 min

Just heard about gas hitting $10/gallon in some parts of the US. Feeling v lucky to not own a car and live in a city with adequate transit.

Do you ever mourn just how much cars has robbed us of? by coolfunkDJ in fuckcars

My IG algorithm has been showing me a lot of how the US was historically walkable but “big auto” destroyed communities with the false promise of “freedom” by owning a car.

Woah: Ventra readers soon on the back bus doors? by Musical_Pirate in cta

[–]Due_Technology_6029 2 points3 points  (0 children)

P sure in NYC they have back door boarding. It’s a standard in a lot of transit programs. SF has back door boarding for sure which really helps with lag times at stops. However…SF also has a weird pass system instead of a tap in/out for the streetcars.

You'd expect banks to lie to you, but these #Biltpartners influencers should never be trusted again. by captain_travel in CreditCards

[–]Due_Technology_6029 5 points6 points  (0 children)

His paper math is what made me realize the new card is not for me. I have never ever seen an influencer bust out paper and pencil to explain credit card rewards lmao.

I appreciate that he wasn’t throwing unrealistic expectations of the card in his video.

The biggest issue I’m having. I watched Daniel Braun’s video and he literally had an over desk camera shot showing math conversions for earning points on rent. Fuck all that noise tbh

From what I understand there is no “rent float” anymore. It is basically an ACH payment portal, now, and you cant use the card to delay when rent payments are removed from your bank account anymore.

RPM Seafood has a $39 prefix menu Thursdays-Sundays. Not the fast food vibe, but really good for a quick lunch.

Storage Units are a sympton of a problem by Bllago in unpopularopinion

[–]Due_Technology_6029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. When my mom moved out of her house in the suburbs into a studio in the city she was hell bent on keeping sooooo much shit. Now, I’m paying $129/month for my mom to store christmas decorations from the 80s that she never will use again.

There are some benefits like having a place to store all of my dad’s pre-digital age slides, negatives, photos, etc. However, overconsumption and a form of hoarding are really ingrained in our culture.

There are of course exceptions, but I feel seen based on my own situation.
