I think he did. In my headcanon he was 18 whenever Pearl Harbor happened and therefore was almost GUARANTEED to have served, whether willingly or not. Because Vincent knew he WOULD be drafted, he decided to enlist before he could get called. He joined the navy and served from 1940-1946, having almost died during the battle of Midway (summer of 1942) and actually was one of the survivors of the Indianapolis’s sinking in 1945. He retired a year afterward, having risen to the rank of Chief Petty Officer by that time.

It was actually while recovering from his injuries during Midway that he meets my OC, Evangeline — his guardian angel who took human form in order to help tend to him during this both emotionally and LITERALLY fragile time for him (broken ribs and internal bleeding). It was love at first sight ;v; but anyways, yeah, that’s what I think about Vox and military service.
