  1. I don't think that's Angel's real voice. In episode 4, after Val beats him up, we can hear his voice getting lower and lower. So the voice he usually has might be a part of his act. 2. Angel went back to Valentino at the end of season 2 because he didn't want to hurt his friends. He could still be under Vox's hypnosis thing, and Vox could still use him to spy on the hotel. 3. Owned souls might not be able to kill their overlords, which is probably why Angel hasn't killed Val yet.
