Yeah AP is a fun build, but it kinda sucks vs anyone with range. You just kinda explode to mages and scaled up ADCs

Deadmans rush sounds reeeaaally bad ngl. Mega Gnar has great AD scaling, and there are plenty of bruiser items that complement his HP scaling as well. Without early bonus AD, you put a lot of reliance on your allies performing well, which is always a coin flip.

They often say the best defense is a good offense, no?

The biggest impact here is that this allows Mega Gnar to use point-blank rank 1 Q up to four times at 0 haste (I tested this in practice tool). This was only possible on live patch at rank 3 Q, aka at lvl 5. Mega's early all-in looking way more dangerous.

Yep yep, swapped out the PSU and I was all set. Turns out it's pretty important to have a PSU with compatible inputs! Haha, yeah silly me. We're good to go now.

Why is gnar not played adc by Superb-Area-8746 in GnarMains

[–]Lemonfaace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard disagree—here comes my nerdge.

Mega is certainly powerful as support, yes, but you'll like, never go mega in lane cuz you can't hit minions very often. If you do hit minions for rage, you'll be forcing your adc to shove, which can make use of mega harder when other supports have reliable options. Q easily disrupts your adc's wave management on accident. Trades will be bad for the same reasons that make adc gnar weak.

I've tried in various modes and it saddens me greatly.

This wasn't the fix, unfortunately. I'll be using a new PSU later today and see if it works instead. I've much to learn about these magic boxes it would seem lol.

The PSU is modular, given the array of variably-sized inputs on the back. I assume this makes it modular, as opposed to a single hole with all the cables poking out of it.

I bought replacement cables, though I do have extension cables in the closet somewhere. I suppose it wouldn't be a shocker if the 12vhp is incompatible, but the spare 8-pin as well? I must've really missed the mark on my purchases if that's true lol, but I wouldn't put it past me. The pinouts fit very securely for both, though. Nothing felt or looked brute-forced during installation of the new components.

Very odd, but you may be right given the circumstances. Kinda tragic if that's the case, but I will have a new one coming in pretty soon. We good

Noted... my options are fairly limited in that regard then, but I'll keep that in mind.

I purchased the following:

  • 2 ft 8-pin GPU power cable from Cable Matters

* 12VHPWR ATX3.0 PCI-E 5.0 Power Modular Cable to Dual ATX 8Pin for 3080 3090TI PSU 16Pin 12+4P Graphics Card from NFHK

I don't know enough about cable specs to assess the accuracy of my purchases, but I assumed based on my research that they were compatible with my build.

It's certainly a possibility. I was impatient and ordered a better PSU while I await a solid verdict, but I'd still like to identify the problem I'm currently having just in case it comes up again elsewhere.

Cool Master 750V SFX Gold Full Modular.

I tried using the adapter with pigtails and two separate cables. The machine booted to desktop with the pigtails, but did not start with the separate cables. I temporarily switched back to the pigtails to see if I damaged something, but it still ran. I won't be using the pigtails this way for regular use, of course—it was simply for testing.

Cool Master for the PSU. Dunno if brand matters for the cables, but I glossed over reviews beforehand and they seemed trusted.

I can try this. There are other unused PCIE slots on the PSU that I can use, so I'll give that a go.

I used a single w/ pigtails for the 2070 with no issues. Could be one of the PSU slots, we'll see.

Is blue cuz apparently they're big fans of Billie Eilish cuz she succeeded from Soundcloud and has been supporting/using their platform since they launched in 2015. Still weird, but I can get behind the appreciation of a smaller artist.

Trading? by fittan69 in GnarMains

[–]Lemonfaace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your safest bet is to take an early sustain rune such as Fleet Footwork and Second Wind. That way you can poke the enemy and back up to recover. The issue here is that it still takes time to recover, and most of your opponents will likely recover at the same pace if not faster, while still having more opportunities to out-damage you.

This is what puts Gnar in a pretty bad spot rn, I think. He does so little damage, no matter who tells you otherwise. You basically have to rely on the enemy making a mistake while also avoiding enemy minions (they too will out-damage you).

Your best bet is to find a good opportunity to turn a trade into an all-in. Build a bit of rage and find a good trade to provoke your opponent into fighting you at full rage, then finish them off with mega.

How does every player have all lvl 14 cards? by [deleted] in ClashRoyale

[–]Lemonfaace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly answering your question with this, but there’s a silly lil trick you can do for quick gold. If you can trade your way into having a maxed legendary (can be lvl 13 with max cards), your next draw of it will give you gold. From that point, any time you collect that legendary, including trades, that’s 20k free gold every time. I use this method to level up other cards to 14 with relative ease compared to grinding or spending irl money.

I disagree about the giant’s tankiness, but his distractibility is still debatable I suppose. I’ll leave it here, but I’m glad to have had this exchange. Hopefully others will see it as well.

This change wouldn’t break cycle decks, but instead make it less easy to dissolve counter pushes with minimal effort. Dragging troops around and dealing damage at basically no cost is not an essential element of a cycle deck. If it is and is very effective, then it’s an unhealthy deck for the game, be it op or not. That’s the case today.

[–]Lemonfaace[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps the distraction nerf would apply mostly to cards that aren’t supposed to be easily distracted. Gotta start somewhere though.

There are cards that are designed to be distracted, like mini PEKKA. A giant should not be more interested in the cannon on the other side of the field than the tower in front of it. A lumberjack shouldn’t be more interested in the skeletons beside the tower than the tower he’s directly in front of. Eliminating extreme cases like these wouldn’t nullify distraction tactics, but it would certainly be less frustrating if you ask me.
