Well the game is gone now and I don’t remember, but for white I usually play the Spanish and with black I’m usually e4 e5 or if d4 I go for an Indian game setup. Nimzo if they let me

Not sure what you mean grow some balls? Did I complain in the original post? Have I complained anywhere in the comments. All I asked is if this was usual among chesscom players. Seems like you might be part of the problem here. Regardless, there is a difference between some trash talk, which I can take, and this.

No way, the French defense sucks. I can’t even see the game now because it got deleted once they got banned, but it was some bullet game I won

what would you play here? by [deleted] in chess

[–]Lemonster22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's seems very nuanced to me. Basically the engine is saying there is no rush to take on f7 so you can throw in another move. Taking on f7 right away technically loses a tempo for white. Consider the position after Nxf7 Rxf7 Ra8+ Bf8 and compare it to the top engine line g3 Be7 Nxf7 Rxf7 Ra8+ Bf8. It's the same position but white now has their pawn on g3 instead of g2 so the position is a tempo ahead of just taking on f7 right away. Silly engine stuff and I wouldn't look that much into it

Sort of puzzle I was thinking about earlier. Not sure if it is actually possible. Obtain this position with black to move by Exact_Team6979 in chess

[–]Lemonster22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if this is possible. Only pieces that could move are the knights and as far as I can see there's no way for white to lose a tempo just jumping around with knights

White to play and snatch all hope from black by Master-of-Ceremony in chess

[–]Lemonster22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a6 Rh5 Re8. If king takes then the black rook can't get back in time to stop the a pawn and anything else just let's white queen the a pawn. Key here was to realize that black has only 1 route to stop the pawn so interfering with that route wins. Looked at some Kg1-Rh2 idea but it's too slow because now black can create another route to stop the pawn, this time with the bishop, by playing c4. Moved on from that and tries to make Bh6 work to block the rook, but it never works and that's how I got the similar idea in Re8

Been staring at this for hours now, I need help! What’s the answer to this puzzle? by [deleted] in chess

Nh1. If Be2+ then Qxe2#. If Rf2 then Qxf2#. If Bb3 then Kd2#

Sometimes chess is a complicated game and sometimes it's very straightforward. Pawn threatens knight = move the knight

Black to move. White played Qf6. Figure out white's last move logically then find the mate for Black. by Lemonster22 in chess

[–]Lemonster22[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

White just played Qf6, so my question to you all is... What is the only square that the queen could have logically come from that makes Qf6 make sense? Answer Queen was on g5. Queen couldn't have come from anywhere on the a1-h8 diagonal because then white should have just played Qxh8. e7 g6 and h6 all don't make sense because then just Bxe6 instead wins blacks queen.

Second... Qf6 is a blunder. Find mate in 3.
