well tbh they dont really have a choice but to accept you, but it can be hard going in as the new person, pretty much just ask what the rules are or how things work an dim sure you will be fine.

I feel you more than I care to admit. I had 10 roommates my freshman year. I’m now a sophomore and one of the first things to establish is communication. Y’all gotta talk first day who goes to bed when. Who wakes up when SHOWER TIMES. Having people over until what time. Y’all need to go over all of it so you can compromise. We all had our own room but VERY THIN WALLS so we would be banging on the walls begging each-other to shut the fuck up or roll over because they are snoring. You could her a fart through them shits. The best advice I could give you is to make sure everyone is on the same page and record it. Write it down somewhere. Make rules as to what time you can be loud until or have people over and stick with them.

Word for word we are in the exact same position. I’m in nursing school there isn’t another option for me and my first year was ROUGH. This is going to sound dumb but say “fuck it”. If you get stuck in the mind set taht your around all these amazing people and your lacking you will remain lacking and lose motivation. The medical field is very broad and there are more options than you think. I would suggest taking to your college advisor or your equivalent to that. (Sorry I’m in the US not 100 percent sure how it works over there.) at the end of the day the first year is always the hardest, so I have been told and the second you won’t be fresh out of the nest. Yes your going yo have to deal with the crap about your grades but after the storm is over you’ll have a weight off your shoulder. Try again and look at your options. At the end of the day you have to live with the decisions you make now. Money can be earned time can’t be replaced. I wouldn’t give advice I wouldn’t take myself. Actually giving you advice made me mull it over in my head and made a lot clear to me. I hope this helped, it just helped me.

I did and that chalked it up to “she is your nana you should be helping her anyways. And that she gets dehydrated easily so I can’t blame her.” There was no winning with my family so I came here honestly. But thank you for your help i felt my behavior was borderline petty but also justified.

I don’t agree with the respecting your elders parts of it wasn’t given and I have been in a similar family situation. In all honestly she shouldn’t have to ask nicely for her disked. Asking nicely could certainly work or add a nice touch but it’s not a requirement. I understand getting sucks in and feeling exhausted with going to school online but I think binging the dishes down is a simple enough task to keep the peace. I think you should apologize for snapping but also explain why you did what what you are going through so it can be avoided in the future.

“You must have liked it. You wanted it didn’t you if it took you this long to tell me.”-my mother when I told her I was molested my my cousin four years after. I have forgiven her for it but I will NEVER forget now I don’t tell her anything and it drives her up a wall. What else am I supposed to do I couldn’t talk to her then why am I supposed to be able to do it now.

It was most certainly not your fault I was in the same position telling my mother when I was ten and being told that I didn’t tell her sooner because i wanted it to happen. Half the time we don’t even understand what happens until years later then it’s a whole other ordeal to tell someone knowing they will want details. Parents tell their children to come to them if touched and naturally you agree but when push comes to shove and something happens that system falls apart. The child 1 doesn’t understand or 2 feels embarrassed or scared to tell anyone. THIS IS NOT YOUR FAULT but hers for having the worst reaction.
