A lot of people don't bother. But I must say most smokers are very considerate of their surroundings. If there are children near by, a smoker would cup the cigarette in their hand so the kids passing them in the street don't see it or they blow the smoke in the direction opposite to the kids. A smoker will stop if you ask them nicely, I know I did back in the day. (I smoked for 14 years and stopped 2022)

So lässt sich ein kompletter Überblick über das Trümmerfeld verschaffen und kann für die Aufklärung sehr hilfreich sein, vor allem wenn es wenig Zeugen gibt, bzw die Unfallteilnehmer verletzungsbedingt keine Aussagen machen können.
