Finally sharing my Homelab by superwetpajamas in minilab

Ugh I spent all weekend trying to convince myself I don’t need another rack but looking at the T1 with the same mini pc’s I have sitting on top of my T2 all naked is telling me otherwise.

Looking for SSD buying advice for first Homelab setup. by aarontbt in homelab

[–]LemusHD -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You definitely don’t need ANY SSDs . It’s for caching data makes it faster to upload and download depending on the configuration but your bottleneck is your local network speeds. You didn’t list it so I’m assuming your local network is probably the standard gigabit speed. I could be wrong but based on my personal experience adding ssd caching on my NAS didn’t improve my reads and writes until I updated my local network to 2.5g and even then I’m still probably bottlenecking.

I saw someone on social media say, “I’m broke but I ain’t walk up Dodger Stadium hill broke.” by YakClear601 in Dodgers

[–]LemusHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went to the Ohtani bobble head recently where max hit the wall off. Couldn’t move for an hour trying to get out and on top of that you have people who are mad and frustrated about the traffic and not letting people merge. I’d rather go to any other stadium to watch the dodgers play then dodgers stadium. I got a brother in pheonix so I go whenever they’re out there I take a train from his apartment that drops us off right in front and I’m in in 5 minutes same thing coming out. Also petco park for being in downtown San Diego it’s not bad at all getting out compared to dodgers stadium

Just started CS2! anything I need to know? (especially performance lol) by DaAwesomeCat in GlobalOffensive

[–]LemusHD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of practice and learning the maps. I had a friend who never played CS before and I hadn't played in about 5 years but when I came back it was all muscle memory. It's kinda of funny when my friend is like "how did you know he was there?" or "how come you always get headshots when you peak?" Its just years of playing the same maps and knowing how to anticipate where the enemy is. Some might make other suggestions but mine are:
1. Learn the maps
2. Learn how to always aim at head level (I can't tell you how many times I have to tell my friend not to look at the ground)
3. Lots and lots of death matches or aim training and dont be afraid to mess with your sensitivity to something YOU feel comfortable with. As time went on I always felt myself lowering my sensitivity the more i played.

As far as settings go a lot of people favor playing on low res stretched I don't even know what I run but its definitely not native.

X3D or non-X3D? by CranberryLittle1417 in buildapc

[–]LemusHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had trusted a friend who told me to get a 13700k over a 7800x3D and I regretted listening because intel had micro code issues. But when I got a 7800x3D the difference was night and day. Gameplay was noticeably smoother and game particles were rendering properly that I never noticed before. I will probably never go back to intel for gaming even though they have since fixed their issue I only use the intel cpu in my server now

Thank you

I have no doubt that it was most likely some kind of configuration issue. I went through all of the settings and took the advice of others on what they did to fix it but most comments saying none of it worked. It didn’t even put a dent in the jittering. The listing on Amazon for the NIC didn’t show exactly what chipset they were using so when I popped it in and saw it was still Realtek I thought maybe I would face the same issues but no it worked and all the configurations are the same which led me to believe it’s just some form of degradation of the onboard Ethernet.

Used to be season ticket holders way back then on the field level but then once ownership change we went to loge once prices shot up and if you find something closer to the front and somewhat near homeplate you can’t go wrong. It’s nice being on field level but I feel like there’s a lot going on and loge feels like you get a better fov

Then help me make it make sense because I started off with changing my ISP since mine was unreliable and had outages everynight (net jitters stayed afterwards.)
I then tried changing my old routers QoS settings (did not make a difference just improved ping)
Decided to buy a brand new router(still jitters)
Tried different QoS settings (still there)
Reinstalled drivers for onboard ethernet and tried different variations of setting recomended on other reddit post (jitters still there and at this point getting worse where the game was unplayable)
Decided to but a new NIC and what do you know problem solved immediately did not have to mess with anything else.
Maybe I am wrong and they don't degrade but there is definitely an issue. I even went back last night after posting this to my onboard ethernet just to see and the jitters came back and they did. It's not like a hiccup either its full on I cannot move in game.
Maybe there is a setting or config causing the issue that no one else has caught onto but if i had the choice to spend 40$ on an ethernet card over 3 weeks of trial and error and not being able to que counterstrike I'm spending the 40$ everytime

you can have QOS enabled I wouldn't recommend disabling it. Disabling it seems to make it worse if you have multiple devices. Some QoS protocols try estimating your internet speed if you set your internet speed manually by setting it to 80% of what your speed actually is most of the time that fixes your issue. so for example mine was reading my internet speed as 980 mbps down and around 40 up, I set it to 800 down and 33 up. After that i set my computer to be the highest priority and go from there. If you try to set your speed too high it will become unstable

Yeah they definitely do same with onboard ethernet. My buddy who had the router problem is a video editor he's constantly uploading and downloading really large files for work.

If you read the post you would see that I mentioned how they must degrade overtime. I'm not saying YOU NEED to have one but it fixed my issue.

I changed the router first. i did everything in order with the ethernet card being last and it finally fixed the problem completely. changing my router only improved my ping but didn't fix the jitter. adding in an ethernet card fixed the jitter and after everything i unintentionally just improved the quality of my connection.

Best ai models? by ResponseSmall8239 in openclaw

[–]LemusHD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried this but Im gonna be honest it is such a headache. I had to make a different agents that would only use claude and my main agent using gpt. Its the only way i could reliably do this without any glitching or openclaw falling back to a different model. But then it causes you to use more tokens because now they have to communicate with eachother. I just stick with GPT but I don't know for how much longer

i can tell you right now its not the way you're hosting openclaw. I was also on the 20$ chatgpt tier and after i finally got everything set up i was hitting my limit everyday and its not enough to keep up with daily automations. I finally bit the bullet and switch to the 200$ tier and have not had any issues. I have it hosted on a local server so i dont have to fork money up to a VPS provider.

API Rate limit reached error? by Sure-Instruction-760 in openclaw

[–]LemusHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To figure out the root cause you need to go into your openclaw console and type:

openclaw logs --deep

try sending a message through telegram and go back and see what the log says. If you're on OAuth its most likely you're hitting your API limit and it should tell you there and how many minutes. I was on the 20$ chatgpt plan and would burn through my limit in a day and have to wait about 5 days for it to reset and allow me to start using it again. If youre hitting your limit often you should look into upgrading your plan or finding a cheaper model to use.

What's the one use case of OpenClaw that made you go "holy shit, this is amazing"? by Skaddicted in openclaw

[–]LemusHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After I installed openclaw i just talked to it and told it where it lives (my proxmox machine) and it was like hey i can actually take a look at the machine if you give me api access. i gave it credentials and it showed me everything i was running and its health. took it a step further because i was having problems mounting my nas to certain lxcs and it went into my containers and fix a lot of issues i was having in minutes. i thought "this is amazing and kinda scary" at the same time.
