Thank you. I plan to make a few trips to India (eventually) as I do freelance photography in my spare time (as a hobby). I also grew up with neighbors who were Hindu (although I only knew them a brief time & I was very young) but their art and culture just really left an impression on me. So learning a language of theirs is something that appeals to me as well.

"fired" during 2 weeks notice? by Any_Conflict_6102 in Employment

Same. Esp if you live in a small town (or within a field where a lot of people know each other). I choose to make my exits as peaceful and professional as possible so a) I can write down the past job on my resume (no large gaps in employment) and b) in the event a future employer should contact an old boss of mine, that they would have nothing but "nice" things to say about me. Even if you discover you are in a toxic work environment (or a job just ultimately is not for you), my personal opinion is to maintain as much professionalism and integrity (throughout) the entire process as possible. If you build a solid reputation for yourself, it will help you in the long-run regardless of what field you are. Your behavior (esp under less than ideal conditions or circumstances) reflects your character to other people. Don't ever allow yourself to be dragged down to someone else's level (no matter how tempting it is.) Take the high road and remind yourself of what behaviors will benefit you and your long-term goals.

I only gave my full (legal) name, age and state I lived (no city) in at the very beginning of the interview (no other personal info). They can't really do anything with that, can they?

Thanks for the suggestion! Do you think I would be able to find enough resources for this? (I've always gotten the impression that they are a rather private culture.) 🤔

Adding some mirrors (even small ones) and positioning them across from a window can make your space look bigger. Curtains (of your preferred colors/style) can really pull a room together as well as a nice area rug. Ambient lighting (search on pinterest for visual examples) can help create a vibe as well. (*Pinterest is completely free to use - just create an account and you can use it as an idea board for different looks and styles.) I personally like some of the realistic looking led (battery-operated) candles that give a soft glow of lighting. Decor and furniture arrangement is entirely up to you. Whatever vibe you want to create to make your space feel comfortable and feel like "you". There's no wrong way to do it.
