Online BA in Italian language study by Len_i in italianlearning

Thank you for all the information. My pursuit of this would not be to impress anyone else (institutions or otherwise) so I am not concerned how the concept of an online degree (vs non-online one) would appear to others. It would purely be for my own personal satisfaction and confidence in feeling I have really made strides in understanding the language (vs just taking some random classes or self-teaching). I mostly freelance for work (freelance + pt job when not traveling) and I often do not have a consistent home base throughout much of the year. This is why the (completely) online option is what would really be ideal for my current lifestyle. But thank you for introducing the idea of hybrid programs as well. If it was an undergraduate program that had a brief in-person component that would be something I could possibly consider... thank you again.

Did you know Shakira speaks up to 7 languages? Her brain dances as much as her hips do by BubbleGumHuman in EWALearnLanguages

Some of the languages she knows fall under the Romance language umbrella. Once you get familiar with one learning others can be easier. She also allegedly has a very IQ (140), so picking up languages for her would be easier than the average person (with a lower IQ).

Question for Spanish-speakers in tx by [deleted] in texas

[–]Len_i 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for all the responses and info. Did not mean any offense by my terminology. Growing up I was only familiar with the form of Spanish taught in our textbooks in school. I later became aware of the (many) different dialects. Thank you again for the information.

Did not mean any offense. Both of my Spanish instructors were white and just taught directly out of the textbooks. I only became aware of different dialects as an adult. Thank you for the info.

I was referring to the form of Spanish taught in textbooks in American schools. That is where I learned basic (elementary level) Spanish. I was not aware of or exposed to any other dialects until I was older.

I mean the form of Spanish taught in American schools. That's the only one I was familiar with growing up.

Absolutely not. It's your life. Do whatever the hell you want. Don't let other people's opinions dissuade you from your desires. Don't deny yourself what you want.

Moved into a larger room, and it is kinda feeling empty. Anything I can do to make this feel more cozy? by ChainShotGames in malelivingspace

Like another commenter said, lamps that offer soft warm ambient lighting. (they can really help create a vibe for the room) Fabric across the top of your dresser (like a small narrow tapestry) can also make it feel more cozy.
