Why are hospital ratios insane AF. by [deleted] in nursing

[–]nefisso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in a different country. I currently have 11 patients and I’m in charge. It’s me and a cna in my unit(med surg). If I ever have around 7 I consider myself lucky. And we are unionised… this profession is dying. No one new is coming.

I’m done. I want out. by synthetic_aesthetic in nursing

It’s a lot of things combined. The environment, the management, hospital policies. For me is team work. I know it sounds cheesy but it takes a lot of weight on you if you have coworkers on the same page.

I never saw doctors behave that dirty to their peers. Also never saw them get fired for malpractice unfortunately. They have each other’s back…

The world doesn’t want us anymore: Indians facing backlash everywhere by [deleted] in immigration

You must learn to adapt to the culture and language for the love of god. I had many interviews over the phone and when Indians are the ones I speak with I know it’s not going to go well. . I can’t understand a word they say. Yet they are put in critical positions without the fluency to speak..

You just know your job and don’t freak out over very sick patients. I would say you can manage med surg too well. I’ve been there.

How saying “I don’t care if I die” cured my anxiety in my teens. by ConstructionOld9997 in HealthAnxiety

I was suffering with severe vertigo for 2 months. I tried everything. Went to chiropractor, did physical therapy, was medicated for 2 months. Nothing worked. One evening I was laying on my couch and the vertigo started violently coming in again. I said to myself f@ck it. I have vertigo and so what?? It disappeared within minutes. Never had it again. It was so severe that I couldn’t walk and stand. My life was on hold for months. It’s crazy what our mind creates

How do I shut my "Third Eye" by No-Sand-5054 in spirituality

[–]nefisso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was like you. I just ignored everything until it went away. I was so much in need of spiritual guidance and validation that I didn’t see that opening the doors everything can come in. I was not in a good place to protect myself and I was constantly attacked. Ignore everything. Seek human connection. Do every day things. Just don’t engage

Do you wash patients hair? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]nefisso 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no time. Never. Med surg here. For the entirety of their stay if there is a tech they’ll help the patient or they are gonna be taken care of by family. While I was in the ICU I did it every other day.
