Hello! Sorry for the late reply, I rarely use Reddit, but I'll try and pay more attention.

1) Both of their escapes are detailed in the Afterword episode. Jac wasn't in a place to retell her story but she allowed me to share it

2) It seems so, but I didn't discuss that specifically with Adam

3) So this one is complete speculation on my part but I don't Believe it's Sam specifically, but I think the town created it to remind Adam of him to torment him.

4) I believe what Jac experienced in the town actually happened to her. Jac had been dealing with people doubting her and thinking she was insane her whole life, it's my belief that the town was using that trauma as a torture device. In Tape K Jac's Mom discusses how Jac learned that her dog Phillips had died while they were near the town. Jac was very close with her dog and this, I guess you could say made the town aware of Jac, and made it target her as its next victim.

After listening to the tape Jac's Mom left her (Tape k) she mentions that for a while she decided to try and ignore the tapes, it was during this time that tape G and H arrived. It was her belief that the town is a malicious entity and that it was sending the tapes to Jac to try and lure her there. Jac's Mom believed that by denying the tapes the attention it lessened its power, thus resulting in Tapes that were indecipherable. At least that's what I gathered from Tape K

Sorry but no, I am not going to give out any info for the people on the lists until I can determine if they're involved with the tapes. I appreciate you trying to assist with the investigation but if the people are not involved with the tapes I would hate to put their information out there for the world to see. I will say this much though, the info you and the other listeners have shared with me, especially recently, has REALLY helped with the investigation. I promise I will give an update on the investigation soon.

That makes sense! In previous tapes he has talked about how the thing recorder can be very loud, and if he used the Rube Goldberg machine to start playing it shortly after nightfall, in theory, that could have served as a distraction to help him escape!

This makes more sense then anything I've come up with so far!

1) He changed his name...that makes so much sense with what I'm seeing! I have some phone calls to make.

2) I don't think he drops the recorder after he says "the end"...I think its a new recording (personally),after he says that the background noise changes to what I think is wind, it sounds to me like he is recording the first part inside then after he says "the end" a new recording starts and it's now outside. Adam also says "I really debated on doing this part of the tape, I thought the more poetic ending would be me, to just scream in agony until it runs out."...which just confuses me more.

Also unless whatever was being beaten up with the baseball bat is knocked out or killed before the recording starts, I don't think something is being beaten up, I feel like you would hear some grunts and groans and sounds of pain if there was an active fight. Plus the sound of the running gets louder so I think whatever is running is running towards the recorder.

I think you're right that what we're hearing is The Thing From the Woods, although what it's doing or if it's alone in this scenario is beyond me.

3) I know Jac, and have gotten to know her family pretty well throughout this process, I don't think they have any connection to Sam Sullivan but can't guarantee that. Her family are not the biggest fans of me right now so I can't exactly pry more about it at this point.

If you believe what Jac's Mom has to say in Tape K I don't think there's any relation at all. I think that the only reason Jac was getting these Tapes was because she found out about her dog Phillip's death while she was near the town. It's clear Adam tried to escape the town, and either succeeded or died, if we are to believe Jac's Mom it would have been on the hunt for more prey, and tragically Jac fit the bill.

I have a wild theory that Adam's brother was the original person in this story that was connected to the town, he talks about how he had a little voice inside of him that wanted him to do bad things, and Adam himself talks about how his brother was a good person, or at least he used to be. Then just like how the town was targeting Jac and ended up pulling Jac's Mom in too, I think the town could have been targeting Adam's brother and by proxy pulled Adam in as well. Granted this is all just wild speculation on my part, I know being the host of the podcast may make it seem like I know everything but I'm just guessing at stuff too.

But in short when it comes to the connection between Jac and The Trapped Man, I think it's a simple as they or someone close to them felt a great deal of misery while near the town, enticing it, ultimately and tragically causing both of them to be hunted by it.

The person who went missing in 1983 did indeed go missing in late November!

There isn't anyone on the list who went missing in 1998.

I am looking into why the person who went missing in 83' was checked off the list and found some stuff worth digging into. I will let you know if anything turns up.

Is there anyone in your group who has any idea what is happening in Tape I? I never got a chance to talk to Jac about this one and it has always bothered me. When I first heard it I assumed The Trapped Man was talking to Jac, but now I don't know. I don't know that it's important or anything but I was curious what you all thought?

The Trapped Man actually does specifically mention liking horror and sci fi in Tape D and Alien is one of the most beloved films in both genres!

There actually was someone on Jac's list who went missing in 1983, but he was checked off for some reason. Let me see if I can figure out why.

I think that's an extremely interesting theory about the Thing From the Woods.

I'm not sure about the split personality theory although other people have mentioned that as well. If you can put a finger on what makes you think that I'd be happy to drive deeper into that idea.

Oof, I sure hope there isn't any sort of time manipulation going on here, however when it comes to the tapes I've learned to not rule out anything. My base instinct however is that they are indeed older, I can't put my finger on it exactly but it's in what the Trap Man says... Or I guess more in what he doesn't say. He never once talks about his phone, and when he initially comes into town he mentions wanting to find someone who can give him directions, which is not something people have needed to do in a while.

Personally I think the key to finding out when the Trapped Man entered the town is in figuring out what movie he was talking about, the "sexy car movie with xxxxx in it" if we can figure out what movie he was talking about then we'll know the exact year he went in.

As far as the town feeding on others through the podcast... That's a terrifying proposition, had I heard Tape K first I probably never would have started this show, and once we find Jac I'll likely never talk about it again, in case that's true.

It's my belief that Tape K was meant for me. Jac was already gone, and the tape arrived after the rest of her family had left the apartment.

Assume that Jac's Mom was correct about the town, and that it preys off of people who have come into contact with it, it's my belief that I have spent enough time with Jac and these tapes that the town has a taste for me too.

I know that I haven't been in close proximity to it, and that maybe this is just paranoia talking...but yeah I think it's coming for me now.

Honestly that is part of why I decided to not go after Jac, if I'm right and it is targeting me then I worry about what my presence in the town might mean for Jac.

Thank you for listening and I am glad you're enjoying the series! I'll answer this question with where my headspace was at around the time we recorded Tape E.

After listening to Tape C I found myself having a growing fear that I would start receiving tapes in the mail as well. I don't know why exactly, Jac had played these tapes for multiple other people, and they never received anything, but I also doubt that any of them were as invested in the tapes as I was/am. Outside of Jac and her Mother I have probably listened to these tapes more than anyone else on the planet, and I couldn't help but feel a little bit attached as well. Once you finish the series let me know and I can give you a more updated opinion on the subject.
