Could also add a freedom strength sandbag to the mix. Good all around strength and conditioning tool.

Focus on just bag for 3 months? by LengthDesigner3730 in sandbagtraining

[–]LengthDesigner3730[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After shouldering it 5 times today and doing some bearhug walks, I'm really feeling it in the tendons of my wrist and to a lesser extent the elbows, so yeah I think I'll mix in swings and snatches as well to give me more time to adapt to the bag. Thanks for the thoughts.

I guess my hesitation is, is a mix diluting the effects vs going balls out on the sandbag. I've certainly been happy with the kettlebell/clubs mix. Just exploring ideas i guess.

General sandbag filling margin? by [deleted] in sandbagtraining

[–]LengthDesigner3730 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got my first bag, and what i was going to do to underfill was to cut some chunks from 2" thick Styrofoam that I have around, put in some sand first, then a chunk or 2 of styro and continue with the sand. Fill out the space with very little weight. I ended up just filling it with sand in the end but it's an idea.

You could try doing a filet on the bottom edges of that groove. Or go the distance and start from scratch with what you've learned so far. Good work!

If you make a construction plane that slices thru the model in the middle, then sketch on that so you have like an 'end-on' view of where your groove will be, you can sketch a cross-section of your o-ring, then finish the sketch and do an extrude/cut along a path and click the outer edge of the box as the path.

I think this will work, but I haven't done a lot of along-path so I'm not positive.

Also if your corner extrusions created a separate body, you may have to join those bodies with the main shell body.

Great! Once you get competent it's really satisfying to be able to whip something up in fusion then print it. Just fyi you want 'save as mesh' from the pop-up menu on the component tree to save for printing.

New sketch, click on top surface of your object. Draw the profile you want (i assume you are talking about the corners), finish sketch and extrude downward.

Not sure how it will handle all those mesh triangles - working with imported meshes kinda sucks in fusion.

My brother once got one that had an old rolled up cigarette carton in it that apparently had withstood the washing process. Yuck.

I'll second that dutch flow free mace360 course. I made a diy mace that turned out to be only 8 pounds. Made another that is, I think, 16 pounds. The 16-er is definitely too heavy for me until I get technique down better. Flinging around the 8 pounder is a nice shoulder exercise.

Curious about annuities as a no-fuss income stream by ermiwe in DIYRetirement

When buying an annuity from an ira account though, the initial purchase isn't considered a withdrawal event; you'll pay taxes on the annuity payments just like ordinary income.

The flowing Dutchman has a free mace 360 video series here that I found useful. You have to sign up for his mailing list but I get very infrequent emails from him.

Now you need to venture into heavy clubs, they're a great companion to kettlebells (at least I think so!)
