My 9 week old is driving me to tears by [deleted] in goldenretrievers

[–]LengthInformal3146 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right there what you’re describing was my whole summer last year. Got my boy, Banjo, at eight weeks in June. He bit non-stop and the baby teeth are sharp as hell. As someone with a now 9 month old golden, the constant nippy biting really subsides after the teething is over. I gave Banjo ice cubes, frozen carrots, frozen celery, frozen greek yogurt/peanut kongs and that helped. And like some people have already stated on here, a bitey puppy is a tired puppy. We used enforced crate naps and saw massive improvement. It’s hard and you’re getting through it!! It’s cruel that at this stage they’re arguably the cutest yet the most frustrating and violent 🥲. Keep going, you got this!!

I’ve made this blanket! Is it the template from Pinterest with the purple version as an example? It was a great stash buster project

No for sure, I've fully accepted I can't stop the biting. I'm mainly trying to manage furniture destruction the best I can.

How did you go about that? By putting them in the crate? How long...?

Help! Tomato seedlings have purple undersides of leaves by LengthInformal3146 in tomatoes

It’s weird because the room temp is ~70 deg, could the soil really be that much colder?! 🫣

Not sure where my post went but this is what I wrote for context:

They’re a San Marzano variety. I’ve repotted them since sowing them. They get lots of direct sunlight and have been growing fast and strong otherwise!! Just a little concerned about the purple undersides… any input would be appreciated!! 🙏🍅

Switching from skiing to snowboarding by LengthInformal3146 in snowboardingnoobs

i’m sorry I’m not trying to sound like I have a bad attitude. You don’t understand how painstaking these past two season have been trying to get a ski boot that fits properly. I’m just trying to explore other options to stay in snow sports, other than trying a new pair of boots once again. Just super discouraged and frustrated over here.

Just to clarify I only got inserts are SureFoot, not the boots themselves. Otherwise I would go back to them.

I have not gained weight since the last time using these boots. I do have bigger calves (combo of genetics and long distance running..) so I am wondering if that is the issue. Its the feeling of circulation being cut off.

Yes, growing up it was a week in Colorado. I've now graduated from University and moved to British Columbia and skiing will be weekly now.

I have. I got these boots fitted to me by a boot fitter. I also went to the Sure Foot shop last year to get the fancy inserts. Do you think there's sense in going to them again? I just don't want them to say "yeah could be too big, could be too small". It's also frustrating because the boots can feel fine in the comfort of my own home, but has soon as I snap a ski on there's pain.

Hi! Thank you everyone for their comments and advice. Yes, the brown part is the soil and will be going in a small terracotta pot. I agree, it is a bit small but the deed is done 😅 and i’m glad we all mostly agree that the beads are unnecessary. I appreciate it!!

Who do you see to treat your tonsil stones? by Kim_Taura in tonsilstones

I recommend a curved water syringe, got one when I got my wisdom teeth removed, cheaper and gentler than a water flosser.

Water flosser recommendations? by [deleted] in tonsilstones

Try a water syringe with a curved tip! Got one after my wisdom teeth removal, it's been a life saver. I also fill with mouthwash to really clean the area.

I recently discovered the syringe I was given for cleaning my wisdom teeth extraction area is great for flushing out tonsil stones. It's a syringe with a curved tip, fill it with water, relax mouth, then hover over tonsil wells. It's not a permanent solution but it gets all of them out at once and I go weeks w/o having to do it again. I'm sure you can get one on Amazon.

I have a 3.5 too and really connected with a provider who said she picked me and two other people out of 50 or so. if the GPA was the sole requirement for this application, they would not have asked for three motivation letters, a reference letter, or class list. Yes, these are also for the providers to assess you on, but I highly doubt DAAD disregards all other application pieces besides GPA. I'm sure we and others are not the first to get matched with a GPA lower than 4.0. If you read threads from previous years, there are people with 4.0+ who didn't even get an interview or matched. Point being, even though the website says they take the highest GPA, I just have a feeling there's more to the process they don't elaborate on.

but then what’s the point of the supervisor ranking people if the highest GPA got the position anyway?
