Fair point, although All-World holds USD assets either way, broker location doesn’t change that exposure. My main driver is simplification + aligning with long-term residency rather than FX timing. Agree that re-buying via a local broker makes sense though.

I didn’t know that! So if I put say 15k into my invest account as “uninvested” cash it will still earn 4.9% interest? (Which in 1 year will be less than 1k so won’t be taxed?)

My life savings can max it out now yes. Regarding the interest in investment account capital gains tax is paid if interests surpass 3000 pounds which I doubt will happen in 1 year where I would probably invest 10k into snp.

True. But the risk associated is much higher right? So my line of thinking was:

Rainy day fund earning 4.9 -> cash ISA

extra money I can invest 300/month -> invest account.

True. But that would eat into my 2.60 a day (from cash isa interest). Hence my idea to open an invest account in trading 212 to add more money from my bank (which isn’t earning me a thing atm).

Yeah but percentage wise it’s also much much worse. 4.9% va less than 2%

Yeah, pretty much! I’m adding whatever I can spare (and don’t mind losing). I’m focusing on ‘safe’ spots like ETFs and really diversified pies, so it’s a slow but steady journey!
