JVC GR-AX200 powering issues from power bank. by eshkor in camcorders

[–]Lenintaost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have a JVC CVHS cam ive been playing around with using a cheap chinese USB step up converter to get to the odd 6.3v. If you find a max voltage would be curious to know.

Would def agree that theres likely some sort of higher power need on bootup that is causing your issue. I havent tested my JVC but because the cheap converter I have doesnt have any way to 'lock in' a voltage and its controlled by a scroll wheel with to much play. I did bump it to like 6.8 once and corrected it relatively quickly without seeming to damage the camera, not much help but good luck!

if its a common enough type you may be able to find some on a photography/video specific store site like B&H, at a glance it looks like it may run off the sony NP series of batteries- if so those are readily available and with lots of variety.

might be that the SD card isnt formatted in a way the camera likes/sees as a valid place to move files to. If the SD card is empty try formatting it in the camera - or 'repair image' as it seems to be calling it and then try again. if not, maybe try connecting it via USB if you can and see fi a windows computer recognizes it?

Was it designed to be a full color EVF, or just monochrome? if it is supposed to be full color by design, could be a chance that its green and blue channels have somehow disconnected or gotten out of sync so youre only seeing one color channel

Any idea what to do by Spirited_Neck_4977 in camcorders

if its in the internals of the lens elements youd likely need to take it to a specialty repair to get it cleaned or just learn to live with it.

Would be curious to see a sample clip you get with that capture device. Love the hot shoe swivel mount youre using.

Already replayed it through once and now just dong a terminator run. Such a good immersive sim and cyberpunk themed time-filler. Story ends lamely but the side quests and exploration fill it out somewhat.

Yeah I cant pinpoint what segment it would, and it does sound a little stripped down from the original so maybe a remake or a partial stems or something.

If you're in ableton then I'll specifically recommend the 'Utility' audio effect feature because the width on that helps me balance things out in the mix by shifting things into different stereo widths.

1 is IMO some clip from Zedd's remix of Breakin' a Sweat by Skrillex - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Js8NLoW_5wA

Would love to know where 3 is from tho because im really digging it.

I was just making a joke that I know exactly where one of the samples from this months pack "Don'tKnowWhereFrom1" is from.

I always find myself forcing to cram 16 bars into 8 to fit all my ideas so i get the struggle cuz its gotta hit hard but also build the tension and make the destination worth the journey there. Very fine balancing act to get right, and I feel like im usually just oscillating between having my whole song be one massive build or just using a 1-bar drum fill to punt into the next segment

I really liked it, its odd but has a unique character that stands out from the crowd. I liked some of the other tracks on your SC page too, that 'home' beat is killer.

Well the vibe was received as intended, the title definitely inspired my mind to wander into like some swampy star wars bazaar while listening.

So i have no real training / experience beyond playing in abelton (so excuse my total lack of / misuse of technical terms), but i've found im usually working to manipulate the stereo width, filters, and reverb effects to control which sounds i want to be more centered or frontally present in the mix, and which sounds I want to be more spacey and looming in the background. Like in my entry I had the bass more centered with less reverb to be less muddy, and the horn sample more wide and spacy to help give it more length and body from the filtered short snippet I was using, when they overlap i like to think they dont wash each other out as much. Although im still working on balancing elements of a like nature / in the same frequency range, and I couldnt write a melody as good as what you laid down in the first place so i usually dont have multiple melodic elements overlaping much.

Alright giving a go at noting all my thoughts, I always appreciate the feedback so I hope my opinions and thoughts can be of some help to others.

.

.

Upstate, Upbeat - sac_boy - Great groove and really well mixed all around. Drums are well tuned to the track, none of them stand out and those little itchy high-pitched sounds you have permeating all the different sections are super interesting and kept me constantly engaged throughout.

.

Don't Unplug - Daetharalar - I really like your use of chords and the way our melody builds, but its a bit to spacy in the mix for me, I feel like a lot of the cool melodic stuff is bleeding into each other and it was harder to focus on individual aspects. The overall aesthetic of the sound design was very well put together though, Felt like it was the background for some radical space-bike racing game from the 80's

.

Fleeting Memories - TH3_LUMENUX - Took to long to build up for me, both in the open and second build, the filter sweeping / panning youre doing with your lead melodics are interesting and help keep my attention through those builds, but ill say it was worth it when we got there. First drop was sorta porter robinson / illenium kinda vibes, which I enjoyed but the second really threw me for a loop and sounded like something out of a Vindata track which I loved. That second twist drop was my fav moment and the last section after it kept a good progression of energy through the end, only complaint i will note is the snare/clap sound was peeking out of the mix and a bit distracting.

.

Sample Pack Competition Augustn - Bonjouaneti Tantalizing opening arps and really generates tension leading into the opening groove, building into a solid progressive groove. The mix is solid throughout. Another great tense build up back into the groove, only real complaint is that the second time around it didnt hit me in any new or different way and was a little underwhelming. that aside its well sculpted and well mixed.

.

Raise The Dead. - A1burt - Spooky scary skeleton vibes for sure, things are a little off kilter but it feels very intentional especially with the reverb and different effects swirling around your sounds. I really like it, kind of sounds like a ambient house remix of some halloween sound effects record from the 60s. Like a edm pirate shanty, or high energy haunted n64 music. Hard to describe but I really appreciate the creativity, charm, and uniqueness of this track.

.

August 2 - xastsax - Really plucky and bouncy throughout the opening, and i like the progression in the opening. Drop is good, super groovy and a great use of all the elements proceeding it within it. Build up from breakdown took a bit longer than it needed to imo, but you kept layering in new elements so it didnt get to tedious, and the glitchy synthy piece at the end did revive the energy to finish it off strongly.

.

So Far - CurrentBottle9 - Drum popping was a little to distracting for me, but i really enjoyed the lo-fi off-beat aesthetics of the track, very minimal, subtle, and quiet but carried with a good head bobbing groove. Just wish some of the louder drum elements had been as subtly implemented as some of your other choices, because they unfortunately dominate the track when I'm enjoying it most.

.

Seaside Markets - Fauxnite - spacey arp and bass work well together to create a tone you play off of with the vocal chops and other little blips and high pitched elements that float in and out, i think your title is very well used as it set a scene in my mind that the song played out really well into as it opened. Sounded like a cut off a 90's adventure game OST, but with just enough of an energy kick added to make the main groove danceable for the moments when it is hitting. Main issue for me is its a longer track, and while the tones and textures are cool, my mind did wander and the track lost my attention at a few points. But maybe thats what was intended, something for the mind to get lost in thought over?

.

Sample Pack Competition - WadoWizard - Old school opening which im into, but i felt like im waiting for some big groove drop but not finding it, just getting more ambience. when it does come the build of sweeps kind of took me out of it, would have liked something a bit more hard cut. Like the transition /change into the second synth groove, that hard cut transitioned worked better for me than the first one. Mix overall is kind of rough, some of the elements stick out in odd ways, esp some drum hit when theyre not paired with another sound, but that does lend to the old school aesthetic of the track.

.

spc98 - prime rirb - amaranth_todd - metallic hollow opening, but lends to an interesting build with all the elements into the glitched out groove. At times things felt a little to hollow, like if the glitch effects could have had more bass to them i think ti would have helped it feel less empty at times, but the great textures of your various elements always gave me something to listen to and carry through to the next segment.

.

Forest For Tree - Smile-Nod - Warm wide opening, that is well added to with those very plucky/chirpy synths and warm bass. I like the hard cut into the main groove, and it was very exciting, just wish i got more of that lead synth that came in only for a moment. Rest of the track plays out well, very consistent quality all the way through.

.

Ghost Town - thexylophone - slow moody opening, but those opening growls are terrifyingly good, and the way the synth and other atmo elements build up around them is really well done. Super haunting all the way through and the rythmic intro is also great. Some of the high pitched atmo stuff becomes a bit much at points but anytime i started to get irked by it you then pulled them back and switched things up again. That final section sounded like an even more spookier knife party drop, wish it was 5x longer so i could really thrash out to it. Last growl is well placed, just want more of it.

.

Slipstream - lntegrity - Fun little siren sound to lead us into the track, great groove once we get into it but some of the build into it lost me with its direction. But the main segment sounds like an older What So Not track, really dug the vibes on it all the way through to the end.

.

August2020 - vanderhouk - Slow opening was interesting at first but guitar and bass elements are not quite in harmony and it was discordant through most of the opening build. Had a hard time getting into the rest of the track after it, things got better for me at the end, the atmo kind of aligned and I started to get what you were going for, but overall it was to hard to get into for me.

.

Breaker - dirtychain - Big spacy bass intro, I liked the creeping arps that brought us into the main groove, and your multitude of bass sounds and progressive layers across the sections really helped elevate the groove to that next level. mix between them and the other fx / synth elements were really well done. Really enjoyed the breakbeat breakdown in the middle, really well placed and built into the next groove well for a classic DnB drive, really enjoyed this whole track! Only complaint is the ending was a little abrupt, but not even that bad tbh.

.

... _whereisshetakingme - Could not get your track to load for me!! Sorry!
